Fixed my problem
96 GMC Sonoma would not re-start when hot outside with engine warmed. This CT sensor fixed that and was easly installed into the thermostat housing.

If your car is running rough, high fuel consumption, hestitation try a new coolant temp sensor. ECM gets signal from ECTs as to temp of engine. If inncorrect, the ECM trys cool temp or warm temp fuel/air mixtures that are not correct for the engines actual temp. Solved much of my running rough issues. Cheap part as well [$] or so.

Great replacement part for a faulty OEM unit. Like the fact that the threads have sealer on them to keep sensor from leaking.

Comments about BWD Coolant Temperature Sensor:
It's amazing how a bad ECT sensor can make a vehicle run so bad and cause a no start condition. My truck would start fine initially, then run rough after warmed up, eventually stall, and then wouldn't start. I'd let it set for a day or so and it would start right up then do the same thing. Eventually threw a P0118 code, replaced sensor, and now it runs great!!!
Comments about BWD Coolant Temperature Sensor:
Been in for 4 months now, and not leaking. Never could get it to seat all the way. Does not come with any kind of o-ring, not to sure it would have seated even with 2 o-rings. torqued it down pretty good and that seamed to do it.

Comments about BWD Coolant Temperature Sensor:
Never could have thought that this was my problem. Truck would start and die when cold. I had to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running til it got warm. Then it would flood out and die when engine got running temp and wouldn't start for a day until excess gas evaporated. Installed this product and started first time and ran like a new one. Very happy.

With reference to your inquiry on this BWD Coolant Temperature Sensor - part# WT3000P, the problem on your Oldsmobile Bravada should be with the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor not working or a bad wire from the sensor to the ECU. Where does this go on a 1991 6 cyl GMC Sonoma? I think it's on the left side next to a plug wire.1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) on your GMC Sonoma is a thermistor that is located in the engine coolant flow mounted to the intake manifold. When the coolant temperature is low, the sensor produces a high resistance. When the coolant temperature is high, the sensor produces a low resistance. This BWD Coolant Temperature Sensor -part# WT3000P is an exact fit for your 1991 GMC Sonoma. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem. My fan will not turn on when my car gets hot. First thing to obviously check is the Relay, Well those are all good. So next thing was to check the sensor that tells the relay to turn on, Is this that sensor that measures the temperature and tells the relay to kick on? Cause I noticed when my car gets hot to the point where it should be turning on, there is no power getting to the relay, but power getting to the sensor.1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
With reference to this BWD Coolant Temperature Sensor - part# WT3000P, the problem may be with the temperature sensor as it controls the fan. If the fuses are getting blown, you might have a fan bearing going out. That causes a heavy load on the system from trying to make the fan spin. A short in the wiring or the fan motor will blow the fuses too. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem. For any further assistance, you may also visit your nearest Advance Auto store or call us directly at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) and one of our representatives there would be more than happy to assist you.Q:

need to locate temperature sensor on a 1994 buick park ave. Also will this part keep cooling fans from running?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The coolant temperature sensor should be located just below the throttle body of your 1994 Buick Park Avenue. The coolant temperature sensor or switch sends power to a relay in the engine compartment. When the relay is activated, it sends power to the fan. On some vehicles the sensor may be used to switch on the electronic cooling fan.
