Just installed my 4th coolant tank on my 1990 Cherokee. This is the first Dorman version I've purchased. I've been pleased with other Dorman products, so hopefully this one will last longer than the others.

If the coolant overflows then you should be able to set it up so that the overflow flows into this recovery tank.Answered on 7/26/2010 by Mike from AAPA:
This is shaped like the factory piece. I am going to find one right now for my 87 Comanche.
These cooling systems are very prone to problems as they age. If the tank you have is not cracked at one of the hoses now, it is probably not able to keep pressure because of a bad cap on the tank. My cap is cracked now, but previous experience has taught me that replacing the cap isn't going to work because the tank is already distorted and the new cap will never seal.
I'd also check your electric fan for proper function.
