This is a good replacement tank but go elsewhere and get a different brand replacement cap.
The cap that comes with it is fine for a couple of months, then the vent clogs and it will overpressurize your system, until it leaks or blows at a weak spot.
Otherwise the tank is great.

Used this on a '97 Ford Taurus GL 3.0 OHV Engine I just rebuilt. As soon as the vehicle gets to operating temp the cap blows off. I tried 5 in all. I returned the first one and went to several stores to get replacements. After the first bad encounter I tested in the store by flicking my finger under the cap after tightening. It flipped right OFF!. The store clerks were amazed. The threads are clean but the diameter of the top of the bottle is too small for the cap and can not handle any pressure as soon as the coolant heats up. It's suppose to handle 16 psi. It can't handle 3. Dorman's quality control stinks. As I said I tried 5 in total from various stores. Will never even try one of their products again. Total Junk and Worthless.

The replacement reservoir fit just like the original and was very easy to install. I just installed, so I can't speak to it's performance or durability. I will tell you that if you buy it at your local Advance Auto store, expect to pay much more for it than advertised here. Over twice as much in fact. That tends to be how it is with any parts I look up online and then go to the store to buy. Even when they tell me online that it is in stock at the store. Go figure.

Cheaply made tank.The cap leaks after a few short months, had to use original cap, lucky I saved it.The tank's upper black lid develops pinhole leaks after 2 short years, 30,000 miles.The bottom of the tank cracks shortly thereafter. The original lasted 130,000 miles.Dorman gives Advance Auto Parts a lifetime warrant but Advance Auto Parts only gives the consumer a 1 year warranty.

This is the second one I have had to install in my Taurus. The previous one was made by Dorman as well and the threads that accommodate the cap got soft over time (about 4-5 years) and no longer held the cap in place under normal operating pressure. Hopefully product has been improved by Dorman since my purchase of the previous one.

I know many had problems with cracks in these replacement tanks. No problems as of now (one week). Easy to install (30 minutes) and if it were to break or crack i could yank it out rather quickly. Comes with markings on the side of tank so you don't overfill and a vented cap. These are pressurized tanks so caps than fit well are important. Mine did not come with a cap as advertised but the store gave me one as it said it did in the description, watch for that. Good and way cheaper than dealer.

This Dorman - Original Equipment Solutions Coolant Reservoir - Part No. 603-200 comes with a limited lifetime warranty. This warranty is valid for 90 days from the date of purchase or any longer warranty period that may be printed on your original sales receipt. In addition, you must be the original purchaser of the part and still own the vehicle on which it was installed. This warranty cannot be transferred to anyone at any time. Replacement parts are warranted for 90 days from the date of exchange or the remainder of the warranty period, whichever is longer. Warranty periods may vary from part to part.
