Comments about Walker Catalytic Converter - ULTRA Direct Fit:
Easy, No Hassle Install and Precise dimentions! What a Great Quality product by Walker that is made in The U.S.A. Just what we needed to get a good buddy of mine back on the road safe and sound without breaking his bank. I guess that was my Random Act of Kindness for the week, for him and Mother Nature, as my buddy has done for others many times as well. What goes around comes around.
$40 off of $100 saved him even more $$$.

Really well made, I installed it on my 1997 Jeep GC Laredo with 145k. Make sure you buy new clamps and exhaust pipe sealer to do it properly.

Easy to install after removing the original; the clamp on style instead of welded design makes it easier for the normal home mechanic to change the convertor with out having to take the vehicle to a muffler shop.

The Walker converter fit my '98 XJ exactly, replacing the old converter with no modifications to the existing pipe, muffler, etc. It also had the OS2 bung welded into the inlet pipe, so still meets emmissions! Very easy to install, once I was able to remove the old cat.

Comments about Walker Catalytic Converter - ULTRA Direct Fit:
The CAT the previous owner installed (CAT Brand?) rotted away where in pipe expands and meets the main body of the Cat. It too was a O2 sensor on output pipe as opposed to on the rear of the mainbody as my other Cal, NYS set-up 98 ZJ is, as in the MOPAR service Manual.
I made use of a new correct app. NGK O2 sensor I had laying around. BTW the PO installed a new O2 sensor with the previous Cat so age of O2 was not a big factor here probably. But the MIL light cleared on its own in just a few cycles and there seems to be a modest return of some of my lost mileage. But I have not taken a long highway run with her yet to really test this thru.
But she seems smooth, is very quiet especially seeing I mated it back-up to my 1 year old Walker Super Turbo ala Cat-Back system that always seemed to have a bit of a nice V-8 tone to it at idle. I also recently installed an barely used Modine Copper Brass Rad I had with new pulleys and Serpetine Belt, decent flush and new clean Prestone just about proper 50-50. Baby seems VERY happy, smooth, quiet and cool. But the weather is turning much cooler, intro to Our Great Lakes winter, so I'll have a better idea on all of these with some time, long drives, fresh plugs, Cap & Rotor and this coming spring, warmer weather.
If allowed I will repost after a winter of salt and snow on how it is holding up and performing, mileage and the like. But the first week or so with this new CAT has been very nice and it seems to have been a good fit for what ailed my ZJ. I would strongly suggest purchasing a new high quality O2 sensor with such a job. In my attempt to remove the old one which included some soaking of the threads I broke, yes literally broke not 1 but 2 3/8's rachet drives, one while using an extender piece of pipe for added leverage. One was a Craftsman and the other was a longer flex head Snap-On, so not exactly Cheapo garbage. Craftsman has been swapped out as guarenteed and I have not been able to meet-up with our local Snap-On man as of yet for the other.... "Don't Know My Own Strength" (Bullwinkle Moose)

Almost duplicate of original design, but not stainless steel. Really do not expect stainless for the price I paid. A good buy I think

Comments about Walker Catalytic Converter - ULTRA Direct Fit:
We paid $120 to have this converter put on. It works great so far. Our 1998 Jeep Cherokee already runs smoother and much quieter. I'm not a mechanic, but it seems like a good catalytic converter at a reasonable price.

A:
yes, there is a bung hole on downstream pipe. it can actually been seen in picture; on left side pipe @ top near cat. body. It is not exact same location as original equipment, a couple inches away, but O2 sensor screwed right in and everything works fine!
