I bought these hose clamps to use to connect a horizontal bar to a clothes hanging rack I purchased at bed and bath. The rack stands over six feet high allowing you to hang anything from long pants to dresses. I wanted to double the storage for the four rack I bought by adding a horizontal bar half way up on the vertical supports. I suppose I could have drilled through the bars I was adding along with each of the vertical supports but that would have been time consuming and drilled and attached with bolts, the bar would not be adjustable. By attaching a hose clamp to each vertical bar and then feeding a second clamp through those clamps, I could then feed the 6 foot horizontal bar through those 2nd clamps giving me a new adjustable height bar on which to hang more clothes, doubling the storage for each of my four racks. Since I am a single guy, there are no long dresses and as for pants, I just fold them over a wooden hanger so they then become about the same length as a hanging shirt.
