I purchased these rotors as a direct replacement for my 2004 Pontiac Grand Am. Installation was very easy, as there's only one thing to remove: the brake caliper. I had them off to install some Wearever Platinum Premium Ceramic Brake Pads as well.
The rotors were wrapped in plastic, coated with an anti-rust agent. Be sure to have some brake cleaner and shop towels handy to clean this off. Once the coating was removed, installation is pretty straightforward.
As a professional mechanic for 15 years, one tip I recommend everyone do is to "bed" their brakes before driving normally. Basically, you want to accelerate your vehicle to about 40 mph, and stop abruptly. Repeat this several times until you can smell the brake material smoking. You might even see brake smoke. Drive your vehicle for a while, to allow the brakes to cool off. This process is like what you have to do to a cast iron skillet. Part of the brake material will embed itself into the rotor, increasing braking performance, and ensuring that you get a nice and even stop, even under hard braking conditions.
I would recommend these rotors as replacements.
