                A:

The blower motor resistor on your 1999 Ford Ranger should be located under the hood, in the black electrical box. There is a drawing of all that is in the box in the owner's manual. The blower motor resistor's number should be 9. For any further assistance, please visit your nearest Advance Auto store or call us directly at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) and one of our representative there would be more than happy to assist you.

                A:

It is located just to the left of the blower motor. Disassemble your blower motor and expose the electronics inside. Inspect the resistors in your blower motor. They are either a small coil with electrical connections or are a removable part of an integrated circuit board. Remove the screws holding the resistor to the board, and then remove the resistor from the motor. Insert the replacement resistor in the same place as the old one and secure it with screws. Ensure that no stray wires or connections are touching the resistor.

It is on the blower motor assembly towards the bottom. Very hard to get to without moving washer fluid container.

Unfortunately, we do not carry a blower motor resister for a 1985 Oldsmobile Toronado Brougham 5.0L 307CI V8. I would recommend visiting a local Advance Auto Parts store where they may be able to special order this part for you.

It will either be behind the control panel or behind the glove box with all the other A\/C components. However with out the presence of your vehicle we cannot provide you with a 100% answer.

You will find the resistor and pigtail, in the engine compartment to the right and just below the the fan motor onthe air housing. 2 screws hold it on. Easiest way to remove:
Unbolt cruise control unit on passenger fender and lay on top of engine
Unbolt the window washer / engine coolant supply tank and move forward.
Now you can unbolt the resistor
