The old blower motor seemed to fail in the Chrysler Town and Country van owned by one of our church members. When I removed the old blower motor, there were clearly issues with it; the fan was rubbing on the motor housing, and it felt like there was sand in the bearings. Plugged in the new fan and found that there was more than one issue with this system. Inside the Automatic Temperature Control Power Module (ATC), the ground had failed between the power return from the motor and the ground wire connected to the module. After replacing the module, the new fan started immediately and has worked flawlessly to this point (about a week now).

If you are buying this part for a Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth vehicle - open the box and check the electrical connector carefully. The part photo shown on this web site as of 8/14/2010 shows the WRONG gender connector and green/yellow wiring. The WRONG connector is the one already on the vehicle harness - it has a flush face with two entry slots for flat blade contacts.
The correct connector face is a cavity with two flat blade contacts set deep inside.
Also - for the particular sample this reviewer purchased the wiring was too short to reach even if it had been the correct connector. The segment between the motor and the grommet was too short to reach the housing wall AND the sleeved segment was too short to reach from the groomet to the vehicle connector even if it had been the correct connector.
If for some reason you absolutely must use this part and cannot get one that is wired correctly you will have to rework it. You will need barrel crimp connectors and a stripping/crimping tool. On the old motor being replaced - remove the two screws holding the motor to the frame. Untwist the blue and black wires to allow the motor to back out of the frame. Cut the wires close to the motor. Do not disassemble the new motor. Cut the wiring between the motor and the gromet close to the grommet. Splice the wiring (black to green and yellow to blue) using barrel crimp connectors. Plug into vehicle harvess and holding fan turn it on low briefly to check that it rotates in the correct direction. If incorrect, cut, swap, and re-splice.

The new motor had the same plug my van did. I had to remove the plug from the old motor and swap it with the van's so I could install the new motor.

bought to replace the one that came with the 2004 dodge caravan. It matched up perfectly. The wiring connection and screws. Down side wasn't this product but the makers of the van. One screw, to the cover/duct is located behind the motor on the back side. Not easy to get to but not impossble either.

Comments about Factory Air Blower Motor:
First remove insulation at pass feet area and remove glove box. The two trickiest screws of the job are towards the firewall. Use an 8mm swival socket, regular socket for the front two screws. On the bottom right area of the pass feet is where the blower is, but its hidden by a half dome cover. Do not pry on this outer housing, it can crack and need tape. Once the cover is removed, three screws hold the Fan in place. Do not remove dash/ac hoses/heater hoses or any screws under hood. It takes about 1 1/2 hours. Good luck.

Q:
I have a 2002 Dodge Caravan. Front heater/ac blower has 92) screw tabs (not 3) ... what is the correct blower fan ? Where is the control resistor located (for fan speed) ??1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The Blower Motor Resistor on your 2002 Dodge Caravan should be located in the heater box, right behind the glove box. Sorry, right now we are unable to locate the blower fan for your 2002 Dodge Caravan online. However, if you could please visit your nearest Advance Auto store or call us directly at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) and one of our representatives there would be more than happy to assist you.Q:
I have a 2004 pacifica and the heat just stopped blowing the blower in the back is still working is this the blower or somethingelse.1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.Q:
I have a 2003 T&C 6 cyl 3.8 the front air and heat does not work would this be the blower for the front? I have changed the blower resistor and checked the Blower Relay and nothing still. The blower has not worked in weeks and today my battery died and when I got the battery jumbed it started working but as soon as I turned off my van it quit again and now comes on and off at random times and when it is on it will roast you out of the van. The blower does not sound good it sounds like it is trying to kick off and sounds sick1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
This sounds like it would be a bad blower motor. However, with out the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it nor provide you with a 100% answer. We would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not solve or be the problem.Q:

on my 2006 town&country were is my bwd blower motor risistor located?2 answers
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
To best answer your question please purchase a Haynes repair manual for your vehicle.A:
IF your T&C has automatic temperature control (you set the temperature as a number) then it doesn't have a resistor block, it has a power module located just behind the glove box on the HVAC shell.Q:
I need to know if front and rear fan blowers are the same for chrysler pacifica 2004?1 answer
A:
The front and rear blowers on the 2004 Pacifica are completely different. The front blower is a single shaft and wheel. The rear is a double shaft motor spinning two wheels. The Chrysler service manual says that the assembly is balanced as a set, and therefore the OEM replaces the motor and wheel together instead of replacing just the motor or a wheel.
