During a deep cold snap here in Wisconsin, I discovered that my 6 year old original battery was getting weak in my 2007 Silverado. I started shopping online at verious auto part houses, and made several phone calls to find a new battery. I soon discovered that Advance Auto Parts offered a more powerful replacement battery at a significantly lower price. So I took advantage of even more savings by ordering the battery online. One hour later I arrived at my closest Advance Auto Parts store, waited inside the warm store while my new battery was installed for free. Installing a battery in an 07 and newer Silverado requires a little more effort than other vehicles. But it was no problem for them. I am very happy with my purchase.

When I exposed the origional battery, which is in the trunk I found it was rated over 900CCA. The subject battery is only rated 720CCA and is much shorter than the origional. It seems to be working OK now but I am concerned about how it will do this winter and how long it will last. Next time I will drive the 40 miles to the BMW dealer and get the correct battery. Also the people at the store were reluctant to install the battery and one guy commented "I don't know anything about batteries". Finally one of their Tec's who was off the clock installed the battery for me which I appreciated as my old battery completely died in front of the store so I was stuck with no tools. Altogether, it was not a pleasent experience.
