Posts are a bit smaller then the factory stock cables so get the extentions while your there to avoid getting into your car and having no connection.

Beware using the mfgr/model/etc auto-search. It showed the "Gold" battery as the right one for my Subaru. Luckily I checked, measured the existing battery, and found that one wouldn't fit. I searched more, found a "Silver" alternative model, and purchased that...fit nicely. The batteries sit on the shelf & lose their charge. My car struggled to crank the first time before driving on it for awhile. It's been okay since.

This battery is MUCH smaller than the OEM group 35. It did not fit my Nissan Altima correctly. The clerk in the store gave me a very difficult time returning it even though he admitted it was not an 'exact fit' as described on-line.

I purchased a Silver 26R-3 some seven years ago (mfg date 01/06) for my Gravely diesel lawnmower. Not only did it withstand seven years of periodic starts using engine glow plugs (extra battery power used each cold start), but lived through all of the bouncing, vibration, heat, dust and adverse conditions associated with tilting on inclines. After a seven year life with this battery, my replacement will be another Silver. The battery still seems to have good power, so I'm just going to transfer it to my small Kubota to spend the rest of it's days. This Silver has been an excellent value.

the local store in wapakoneta ohio is manned by some great guys! they offered for me to buy it on-line so i could save money. they patiently waited and did a thorough job removing the old battery and installing the new battery. they looked at the entire engine while they were under the hood to make sure nothing was leaking, dripping, or low on necessary fluids. we laughed while they did the work that I was 'supposed' to be doing on a regular basis. when all was said and done, I made a great connection to a few guys that did me a favor and became friends. Great Job Advance!

Applications like clocks/computer system, an onboard compressor that levels your shocks, a direct wired aftermarket stereo etc may draw some low power. A load test from a service station or garage can tell you more about the condition of the battery - an amp gauge or a voltmeter can tell you if there's a load if you place the leads between the battery and one of the cables. The specification of this part AutoCraft Silver Battery, Group Size 26R, 575 CCA, Part No. 26R-3 are: length: 8 1/2 inch, width: 6 3/4 inch, height: 7 3/4 inch. As some batteries fit most vehicles, but their unique shape and reduced size might require to make some adjustments for proper fit to the particular vehicle. Height adapter are used to elevate the battery, so that the battery clamp fits tighter (as the replacment battery height might be less than the stock one – so as to compensate for height, height adapters are to used to make it a proper fit.).

The 26R battery is slightly smaller in dimension compared to a 35 group battery. The 35 group battery will still fit your 2006 Subaru Outback wagon 4 cylinder with a tight fit. While the AutoCraft Silver Battery, Group Size 26R, 575 CCA - Part No. 26R-3 which is smaller may need a top height adapter to fulfill the height factor. Also please make a note that this battery is an exact fit for many other vehicles of Buick, Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Mercedes, Pontiac, Toyota, Volvo etc. So some vehicles may require the top height adapter based on the model. Per the specs on the website, this Autocraft Silver group 26R battery is smaller in all 3 dimensions, and is lighter weight, but it has more CCAs, more cranking amps, and has a slightly longer reserve capacity than the Autocraft Silver group 35 battery. And the 26R is a little cheaper too. Is that correct?
