Comments about Pro-King Automatic Transmission Filter Kit:
I have a F250 2 wheel drive Diesel and the one that was in the transmission was the one for a four wheel drive. It is just a longer neck on the pick up. I bought the one that was for the 2 wheel drive, came home & after dropping the pan,I found out it was not the one & Advance Auto brought the one for 4 wheel drive to my house! I just had to pay the difference. I did not mind that. My problem, I thought, was getting back to the store. Thanks Advance Auto !

Comments about Pro-King Automatic Transmission Filter Kit:
Fit right gasket came folded in the box. So I was worried it would not lay out for installation but all was fine. If my truck lives another 50,000 miles I would buy this filter kit again. Easy to follow instructions, anybody with a socket set and a drain pan can do this.

Comments about Pro-King Automatic Transmission Filter Kit:
Website and store reference computer listed this filter kit to fit a Ford 250 Super Duty 5.4L gas engine- It does not fit. Store clerk opened several kits and found the one I needed listed for a V10 engine.

Comments about Pro-King Automatic Transmission Filter Kit:
This filter and gasket fit the 2001 F250 20 bolt transmission pan. The filter seems a better quality that the stock filter that was in there. The instructions do say to reuse the factory gasket (if the existing gasket is rigid). The reason I purchased this was to replace a leaking gasket so that was not an option. When shopping for the gasket, I figured I might as well replace the filter while I was at it. Seeing that the instructions recommend re-using the reusable gasket if so equiped, I can't help but wonder if the rigid gasket is somehow better, so maybe I should have bought one of those instead of using the included one time use gasket? I would see no problem with using this again though, and assume the gasket will remain sealed just fine - it is not rocket science.

Q:
Would the quality and level of the transmission fluid effect the operation of the engine in any way, (idle quality, rough running while driving, loss of power, loss of gas milage, etc..)??? Vehicle is a 1997 Ford F150 (5.4L V-8, 4X4 w/ E40D transmission).1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Automatic transmissions depend upon a specific volume of transmission fluid to operate correctly. Anytime this fluid level changes, it has an effect on the operation of the transmission which can be mild or severe depending on how much the fluid level changes. When fluid leaks from the transmission through a faulty seal, the level within the transmission drops, which can result in permanent damage if the leak is not repaired. Some of the symptoms are gear slipping, transmission overheating, poor gear shifting and engine over heating. CUSTOMER CARE
A:
You would need a M8-1.25 size nut for the transmission pan on your 2000 Ford F150 4.2L V6 Vehicle. Unfortunately I do not see an ideal part for this application. I would recommend that you check with the nearest Advance Auto store for more information on part availability.Q:
