Comments about Pro-King Automatic Transmission Filter Kit:

Design is flawed, installed this filter kit on my truck and transmission didn't shift right. Got sloppy, almost slipping shifts. Switched to a more OEM compatible filter from another well known OEM supplier and truck shifts normal again. I checked the filter, seen no physical flaws, can only think that the material/design restricts flow, causing low line pessure in the transmission. Which over time would cause a failure.

Getting the pan off without dumping oil all over me took a while
Also, old filter neck seal (it is metal) stayed in transmission - used thin screwdriver as punch to bend/pry it out

Comments about Pro-King Automatic Transmission Filter Kit:

It is a poor design that actually restricted the flow. After installation my tranny was shifting real funny. I brought it up to my mechanic and he gave me an oem style one. I put that one in and instantly noticed it was shifting way better. Be careful of these. My mechanic said these style filters are blowing up trannys everywhere.

There is no way to answer this precisely. Some TrailVoys(Trailblazers/Envoys) have a "shallow pan" while some have a "deep pan." There has been conclusive evidence that the only way to find is to look and see. If the pan is flat, then is is a shallow pan. If it has a slight step down on it, then it is a deep pan.

5 quarts is spec, but having 6 on hand is a good idea, as you should always do a final check and fill with the transmission at operating temperature.
