ProKing Automatic Transmission Filter Kit.
Most transmissions are overlooked during routine service until they begin to exhibit problems. These automatic transmission filter kits replace OE filters with ease making scheduled transmission service easy. Except for automatic transmission fluid, this kit is supplied with everything to complete the transmission service. The transmission pan gasket is an enhanced thickness gasket that should provide a lasting tight pan to transmission body seal.
I found transmission filter change out quite simple. A little force was required to remove the old filter. The kit is enclosed with sealing washer to seat the new filter. If you find your using a lot of force on new filter installation than your doing something wrong. The kit does not contain new magnets so use caution when cleaning the pan not to loose the factory units. Make note of the placement of these magnets to replace them in the exact locations when you are finished with cleaning the pan. Mount the pan with the supplied gasket and tighten to a maximum of 12ft. lbs.

This product is only to be used for Deep pan application. the holes and filter are different than the shallow pan application, which is the one I needed. Once I got the correct version, the installation was a piece of cake. The filter slipped right in and the gasket holes lined up perfectly. I used the correct version on my 2000 Silverado Z71 with the 4l60e Transmission. Can't think of anything that was not great except to say to make sure you get the correct version for your application. They price for this product is pretty cheap and does the job like the more expensive gaskets. I already put a few hundred miles and still know leaks.

The filter seal is difficult to remove w/o chancing damage to Aluminum body. As the previously installed one was clearly in good shape, I left it in.
Instructions should have a better way to remove, or some sort of removal tool.

The image looks like it has metal crimped around the edge. The description says all plastic filter. Confused which is correct?

Yes, this Pro-King Automatic Transmission Filter Kit(Part No. FK-324) fits your 1999 Chevrolet Blazer. Crawl under the car at the pan. If the pan is perfectly smooth/flat, it is the "shallow pan". If the pan has a step down about 1/4 of the way from the middle of the pan, it is a "deep pan".
