Comments about Pro-King Automatic Transmission Filter Kit:
Reuse old gasket, this one that comes with it is thinner and will leak if you don't use silcone.

Comments about Pro-King Automatic Transmission Filter Kit:
I used this on a '97 Chevy Cavalier, just to keep on general maintenance. There was NO LEAK issue before I changed my filter and gasket. Now I'm going to have to wait until next weekend, purchase a higher end gasket, and hope for the best. YES I've tried all the normal things any mechanic would. My advice, don't always buy the cheapest available part if you don't want to have to do a job twice.

Complete and easy to use. Lay out the gasket flat a day before it makes installing easy.

Comments about Pro-King Automatic Transmission Filter Kit:
The gasket that comes with this kit is NOT OEM. It is flimsy rubber that can cause headaches. The original factory gasket is re-usable as long as it is in one piece. Clean both sides of gasket with hot water and a toothbrush. Clean metal surfaces with solvent (brake parts cleaner on a rag is great for this)the solvent should not touch any rubber or plastic parts. A THIN bead of ultra black rtv on both sides of the gasket. Hand tighten all bolts. Wait 1 hour then torque bolts to 108 inch pounds.

Comments about Pro-King Automatic Transmission Filter Kit:
The gasket is half the thickness of the old one and is very flimsy with extra holes for matching up the pan a little more confusing for novice mechanics.

Comments about Pro-King Automatic Transmission Filter Kit:
I replaced this oil pan gasket 6 weeks ago and the rubberized material has already developed a split at the corner and the trans pan is leaking. Another problem with this trans pan is that it only has 12 bolt holes and this particular gasket tends to bulge in between the bolt holes, even just at the manufacturer's torque spec of 108 inch pounds. When I installed it, it began to leak immediately at the same corner and I was able to loosen a couple of bolts and shove it back in, hold it in place while I tightened the bolts up. But it was only a temporary fix because that same corner developed a split after only being installed for six weeks. The material seems to have hardened substantially, becoming brittle in such a short amount of time just from normal driving temps. I'll spend the 19.99 on the Felpro gasket also offered from Advance. I use Advance Auto almost exclusively and have found no other problems with anything else I have purchased. But this gasket is useless.
