You will need internal snap ring pliers and shop air to remove the pressure sending unit from the rear of your compressor, other than that, easy install. After installing & recharging, I'm getting 55* air out on these 95* - 100* days we've had!

I was given wrong compressor(T58950)instead of 58950 that I had ordered(thats how first review originated) The items descriptions are correct, the 58950 is made in USA etc. and the T58950 is made in China etc. After 5 weeks the T58950(china)compressor locked up and had to replace which was warranted but I still had to pay labor cost again.I cannot give honest review until I know I am satisfied with 58950. Also after contacting Warranty claims dept.the only way you can recover any labor cost is if certified tech orders parts,installs them,plus replace dryer,orifice and flush system.I did everyhing by the book for the ONE exception, I took parts to my mechanic and it voided my labor reimbursment. Lesson learned!

The AC compressor was missing a compressor high pressure switch installed in the back plate. The idea was to use the one from your old compressor. It could fail and cost you your freon. I went to my Advance store and purchased a new one. As a minimun I thought it should be mentioned in the item description. As a result it cost me a lot of time. The compressor does work well.

When my three year old compressor locked up the clutch melted and the bearing sounded like a crash happening under the hood. It was time for a replacement. Shopped around looking for the best value and high ratings. The original on-line price for this compressor was good but the 20% off promotion made it great. No core charge on top off that. I ordered the compressor and two days later it arrived with free shipping.
Perfect fit, very easy to install, clear instructions should you need them. Pre-loaded with good oil, made for a quick fix.
Once again I'm enjoying the quiet and the cool breeze.

The compressor came filled with 6.5 oz of tag oil, which was enough for the compressor and the new dryer. No additional oil was required for the system. The new unit was very easy to install. I ordered the compressor and orfice tube online at advanceautoparts.com and was able to pick up the products at my local advanced auto parts store the very same day. It is nice to go online to order and check availability of parts and make only one stop. Since this is a new installation I do not have any reviews concerning the durability of the unit. However, after flushing and vaccuming and charging the system it cools the truck very well.

Exact replacement in my '98 Silverado. Follow all instructions and you'll be satisfied. The clutch had some ratcheting noise the first day, but it suddenly disappeared and has been fine since.

The Description was misleading,it states Brand/GM and OE Manufacturer, it is not GM or OE(made in China)Had it installed by professional, replaced Accumlator/Dryer and orifice and it does not build up as much pressure to cool as a factory comp, but that may be a good thing on an older systems. It does cool but not like a factory unit.I don't like freezing air like some people, but it does keep me comfortable

This Factory Air Compressor with Clutch - New - part# 58950 has 2 year replacement with related parts purchase as warranty. Every replacement requires the receiver dryer or accumulator to be replaced. When applicable the orifice tube will need to be replaced or the expansion valve will require inspection and cleaning if necessary, but are not required to be replaced for the warranty to be valid. Failure to flush the system voids the warranty for any labor reimbursement.
