No wonder the call it Ultimate.
I used this to try and save a badly oxidized trunk lid. It was like magic when I wiped buffed the spot out.

Used on four vehicles with varying quality of finishes from beat up daily commuter to car show driver. Product was used by hand in all cases. The product will remove most haze and leave the finish smooth. The product will not remove water spots or stains. Light scratches can still be seen in the finish as well. Overall, the product is easy to use, it does some of what it claims, but I don't see any advantage to using this product for the price compared to others on the market.

Comments about Meguiar's Ultimate Compound Polish (15.2 oz.):
This is a pretty safe to use compound, even if you get a little aggressive on a trouble spot. I finish with Meguire's polish and can usually get rid of small flaws in the clear, even by hand.

Comments about Meguiar's Ultimate Compound Polish (15.2 oz.):
This product is easy to use and works great. Only con is that depending on the condition of your clear coat. You might have use a finer polish to get rid of the haze that this leaves behind. I polished it by hand, so I don't know if a buffer would have reduced the haze. I will probably invest in a buffer and try it out. Overall I was happy except for the haze, but I think it was my fault for having the haze in the first place.

Comments about Meguiar's Ultimate Compound Polish (15.2 oz.):
I have been using detailing products from Meguiar's for the last 30 years, and their Ultimate Compound represents the best product they have ever produced. It is amazingly easy to use, and is extremely effective in cleaning the surface of oxidation, stains, scratches, and swirl marks. While you can use the product by hand, the best results come from using a dual-action random orbital polisher with a cutting pad. If I need to work the surface more, I spray a small amount of quick detailer directly onto the surface of the paint. That allows me to work the Ultimate Compound a bit longer to get the results I am after. This has become my favorite compound to use when detailing neglected surfaces.

Comments about Meguiar's Ultimate Compound Polish (15.2 oz.):
This stuff is amazing. I used it on my 1994 Ford Explorer Sport. I hadn't washed or waxed it in over 10 years. The c-pillars were heavily oxidized to the point of looking chalky. I used a $20 10" random orbit polisher to apply this stuff and it made the finish look like new. I put a coat of New Finish on it after I was done and people were asking me if I got a new paint job. I wish I had this product for my last car (18 years ago).

Comments about Meguiar's Ultimate Compound Polish (15.2 oz.):
I run a professional detailing business on the side and I have to say this stuff is quite amazing for being a consumer-grade product. You can use the Ultimate Compound as a 1-step polish as it will almost always finish down to near perfect. There usually isn't a need to follow up with a finishing polish when using this stuff. I would highly recommend using a dual-action orbital polisher when applying this polish.
If you are looking to remove swirls from your ride, this is the stuff!
