I used this product on a 2004 alero gls 6 cyl engine. I brought the car in for an oil change and had them add this before adding the rest of the oil. I was hoping it would quiet a lifter that was noisy for the first 10 to 15 seconds of running when the car sat for hours. It did not do that, in fact it seems like the lifter keeps making noise even longer now. I hope this was not a mistake. I have been driving with this in the engine for a few weeks now. Time will tell.

I use this with Mobil one extended syn oil and filter. Since I do a lot of highway driving, I don't change the oil for 15,000 miles which in my case is about 8 months

Comments about Lucas Oil Products Pure Synthetic Oil Stabilizer 32 oz.:
Great product. I'm no scientist but I never seem to have any gunk or crud in my oil when I drain it. My engine runs like new, even over a hundred thousand miles. I honestly can't expect more from a product that it supposed to extend the life of my vehicle and its motor. I recommend this product to all my friends and family, even strangers. Also its great they offer it for synthetic or regular oil. Fantastic stuff. Works for all my automotive needs. I hope this product stays around for a long time.

Comments about Lucas Oil Products Pure Synthetic Oil Stabilizer 32 oz.:
I have used Lucas Oil Stabilizer - both reg and syn- on all my vehicles for the past 8 years. I had an 88 MB 560SEL-135,000 miles- that was using 1 quart of oil per 500 miles. I added 2 quarts Lucas Oil Stab at each 3000 mile oil change and never again added any oil for the next 70K. Same vehicle developed a leak in the steering rack. Was about to order a new $1500 rack and decided to add the LUCAS power steering fix. Leak stopped within hours and never came back. My daughters Volvo 240 - 140,000 - auto transmission would not shift when cold. She was living in Maine at the time so it was a major problem. Before replacing the tranny I used some of the LUCAS transmission products and all ops were normal within 1 day. Still working when I donated the car to a VETS program. My wifes BMW x3
had a valve tick BMW could not eliminate. First new exhaust valves, then new intake valves, finally the entire head - thank God for the warranty. Still had the problem. So I added the Syn Oil Stabilizer and the tick went away and has never come back. I even use LUCAS in my boat. Had some minor smoking on my 50HP YANMAR, added some LUCAS fuel system additive and haven't seen a puff of smoke in 2 years. Also use LUCAS oil stabilizer in the crank case.

Used this in a 99 Expedition that was smoking at startup and was also eating a full quart of oil between oil changes. After the very first oil change using this, oil consumption was almost nothing and the smoking stopped. After the second oil change, no more eating oil at all! Sold the truck 3 years and 50000 miles later and still no problems.

I never realized that there was such a product on the market until I did some research on engine oil additiives and then saw the display in the local Advanced Auto Store on how the additive really performs inside your engine. One goes in everytime I change my oil. Can't have too much protection especiailly in this heat wave.

I use 1 quart in every vehicle I own. I find that Lucas Products (like Seafoam products) deliver on their promises! My truck runs so quietly that it is easy to think that it is not running at all.

Q:
im a lil bit confused here. the inst says to pour in 1 qt for every 4 qts of motor oil. if i change the filter too my capacity is 4.2qts. pepboys told me to use one less qt of oil and this stuff.1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Sorry for any confusion caused. It is recommended that you add this Lucas Oil Products Pure Synthetic Oil Stabilizer with every oil change (20% Stabilizer, 80% Oil). The rate in your 4.2qts of motor oil would be like: 0.85 qts of this Lucas Oil Products Pure Synthetic Oil Stabilizer and the rest filled with recommended engine oil. You may also use the stabilizer to top off between oil changes in order to help reduce oil consumption in an older engine, or maintain peak performance in a new engine.Q:
the directions call for 1 qt of stabilizer for every 4 qts of oil...my car calls for 6.5 quarts of oil...does that mean I should put 5.5 qts of oil then 1 wt of stabilizer, or do I put in 6.5 qts of oil, then an additional qt of stabilizer?2 answers
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
It is better to add 6.5 quarts of oil and then add additional stabilizer.A:
sorry but i might be wrong, but my truck takes 5 qts oil. So i put in 4 qts oil and 1 qt stabilizer this gets me the 5 needed qts. When i took motor rebuilding in school they said it is just as bad to have too much oil in a engine because the spinning crank and rods cause a foaming action, causeing air to get in your oil system. So too much is just as bad as not enough correct? This is in responce to the second or third answer.Q:
will it wear on your oil pump?2 answers
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Not it will not.A:
lucas oil stabilizer is safe for all engine parts, including your oil pump.Q:

A:

will this stop smoking from vehicle1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
