PocketScan Code Reader CP9125 is an easy-to-use tool for novice and light-to-moderate DIY customers. It enables the user to read diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) from the on-board computers of 1996 and newer OBD II compliant vehicles. This gives the user the ability to quickly determine the cause of the "Check Engine" light coming on. Once repairs are made, the PocketScan allows the user to clear the trouble codes and turn off the light. All Actron code readers and scan tools are CAN compliant.

I work on my own car and use this tool to diagnose potential problems. It can also be used to remove your check engine light. It does not display data other than the code for that issue, so if your wanting live data or more extensive explanations of the issue you will need a more advanced reader. It does not have a feature to show data via usb to pc so this is something I'd personally like to have, but for the price I can certainly understand why it does not. Once again this is as basic as they come. One feature I did like about this reader is that it runs from the power of the vehicle so no additional power source is needed.

First, it didn't work. I followed the instructions EXACTLY and nothing. An email to their customer service department revealed the secret you need to know when plugging this in to get it to work. Very poor instructions, very good customer service. Also, the software that came with this tested is useless. It hasn't been updated since 2005.

Just got this and haven't used it yet. But I can tell you that the software included is useless. Software file is dated 2005. Once installed, only vehicles from 1996 thru 2003 are available; nothing newer. So if you have a 2004 or newer car, save yourself the aggravation and just throw the CD into the trash, as it will have no value for you.

Not a big issue but couldn't erase 2009 Hyundai accent errors after fixing items; but easy to remove battery cable and codes were erased and didnt return; had no issue with clearing my 2005 Dodge error codes; really like this device

I bought this product because I had a persistant check engine light on my VW Golf TDI. Knowing that VW cost more in the shop I decided to get this since my car was still running fine. This little guy helped out a lot. Found out that I was recieving a cylindar 3 contribution fault. Now that's all the book tells you, can't seem to get the cd to work. My computer keeps saying theirs a virus on it. But looking up the code online told me that it's most likely a injector issue. I cleared out the code and ran injector cleaner through it and it hasn't been back. All in all i'm glad I bought this instead of brining my car into the shop.

Would work well if looking to buy a used car and allow you to check for any pending codes. Found my faulty drownstream O2 sensor right off and allowed me to clear check engine light. Changed sensor, no more problems. The CD does not work with my computer format but had no problem finding the correct code in the instruction book.
