I decided that my car could look a lot better after having settled for the various add-ons you get at the drive-thru washers. I live in an apartment and thus don't have anywhere to wash my car myself. So, after the latest trip through the washer, I brought it home to cool overnight. I started off using the Meguiar's clay bar over my entire car to get all the contaminants off. Highly recommend doing so before waxing. I then set about applying the wax to my car using the foam pad provided with the wax. Though the instructions said you could wipe it off as soon as you applied it, I found I got better results by letting it set/dry for at least 15 minutes. Be sure you buff it off well with a microfiber cloth, and I'd suggest having at least a couple of them because you run out of clean surface area on the cloths pretty quickly. I had to apply my wax in sunlight, which isn't recommended, but I still got very good results.

Living in the west suburbs of Chicago, wax durability is extremely important to me. This NXT goes on very easy, and removes with no issues. My only problem with this wax is the durability. On my daily driver that sits outside 24/7/365, this wax lasted only two weeks! I applied two coats, each coat 24 hours after the previous to allow the wax to properly cure and bond to the surface. The paint was properly stripped and prepped prior to applying the NXT. Meguiars is obviously a fantastic company well known for its product lineup, but this is simply not one of their better products, period. I would suggest Collinite 845 before this wax anyday of the week, especially considering that it is cheaper, and is well known to last up to six months (ask me how I know!).

Comments about Meguiar's NXT Generation® Tech Wax® 2.0 (18 oz.):
Started using this product on my new Honda SUV in 2009. It was so good I tried it on my very old BMW motorcycle. No matter what I had used to wax my bike in the past twenty years, NXT was far and away superior. I had used so called "motorcycle only" waxes in the past. The NXT blew them all away, in terms of shine and actual protection. And, each time I used the product the shine was brighter. Now, when I go to wash off the bike at the end or beginning of the season, that shine comes through automatically. What a pleasure to use this product. It actually lasts a lot longer on cars and motorcycles than you would think. Great product.

It works as described. I recently purchased a new 17 year old "toy" that had not been washed, much less waxed, in at least 9 years. I was very impressed with the results after using this. I've used Meguiar's products for years, but wasn't familiar with this product. After conducting extensive online research I was sold on this after reading all the rave reviews online.

..this wax is the BEST you're going to get for your money, and your time – goes on, and off easy (applied above 55F) – only needs to be applied twice a year, even thou I park the vehicle outside (2 coats applied each time within 24hours for best coverage), has a great reflective shine, smooth feel, and the water beads nicely … only use the Mequiars car wash product, when washing (to keep your hard work, and wax on the vehicle longer) … I've been waxing my vehicles faithfully since the mid 70's, the days of Turtle wax, and Rain Dance – we've come a long ways since then, and this has been the wax of choice since it first came-out (note: besides my truck, I use it on ALL outdoor sporting equipment, bikes, ice fishing sleds, the boat, and even my guns, both the wood stock, and bluing – you won't regret it, and Advanced Auto has the best price, when you find the right coupon code.
… seriously – it's really is that good !
Comments about Meguiar's NXT Generation® Tech Wax® 2.0 (18 oz.):
I recently purchased a 3 year old silver vehicle - the first car I've owned that didn't have a dark colored finish. I was pretty disappointed after washing, using the clay bar, and protecting with Nu Finish. The car looked clean, but didn't have any depth, sparkle, or that glass-like look.
After doing a little research I decided to give NXT a try and was further motivated with a coupon. The results were really fantastic. As I was applying it, it seemed as if the number of silver flecks in the paint doubled! It also gave it the glassy (wet) look and more depth than I thought was possible in a silver finish. I'm sure I looked like a fool to my neighbors when I stood in the driveway, rocking my head side to side comparing a NXT'd door to a door that hadn't received the treatment yet, wondering how it worked so well.
I know that typically you get what you pay for, but I'm still skeptical of any high priced car products. I tend to believe that the longer somethings been around, the more likely that it's a good product (think California Duster). Well, this NXT is worth the money if you're trying to eek out some shine on a light color or silver color.
I did apply the NXT directly over the Nu Finish. I don't know if this takes away the NXT's longevity or causes any chemical reactions between the products, but 1 month later and everything still looks great.
And one last thing - I'm thinking the NXT may end up saving me lots of money on carwashes in the long run. It is such a glossy finish that I can get away with using instant detailer and a cloth once a week to get the car completely spotless and bring back the sparkle - faster, cheaper, and more environmentally friendly than the automatic car wash!

Comments about Meguiar's NXT Generation® Tech Wax® 2.0 (18 oz.):
This is the best wax available to use on a new car, did extensive research on which wax to use for my 2012 Durango so picked Meguiar's NXT and it did not disappoint. I'm not new to Meguiar's but I wanted the latest and greatest wax and Meguiar's NXT is the best. However, I was using Meguiar's gold so this brand speaks for itself. This wax went on very easy because it is liquid and hazes lightly, also it wipes off easy. I even got it on the plastics and it didn't leave that haze on them it came off without problems. This is a must have if you want that great SUV shine. I did clay the DD first then used the NXT so I recommend the Meguiar's clay kit to remove any contaminants then use the NXT. Now washing your vehicle will be an easy task as the water beads up and wipes off easy with a microfiber cloth. I used a microfiber cloth to remove the wax. By the way it leaves "No swirls". You will not regret purchasing or using this product. The only reason I didn't give it a five is because I don't know how durable it is, if it last 6 months then i will give it a five but at this point I give it a four. It would be nice to wax the car only twice a year and that would be in the warm to hot or spring/summer/fall months. Anyway this product is A MUST HAVE!!!!
