I did an easy trans flush....drained oil, replaced oil several times. between each refill, i ran the transmission to clean the trans and reintroduce dirty/diluted dirty oil into the pan until the oil in there looked like new oil. My car, a 04 avalon, is very smooth shifting now. This is some of the only stuff advanced carries that meets toyotas trans spec. This stuff smells awful though. You'll get some on you if you did what i did. Don't even think about wearing your cloths inside your house or the wife will kill you. Put a towel down in your vehicle as well for when you get in there to put the car in gear.

I would not ever use this product again, I think if I'd left it in my 2004 Impala it would have caused the transmission to go out, it did'nt shift firm and would hesitate and jerk when starting out sometimes. After 500 miles I drained it back out and replaced the filter again and put plain Castrol Dex/Merc fluid back in and the transmission went back to shifting properly and not hesitating after about 100 miles.

Comments about Valvoline MaxLife MaxLife DEX/MERC ATF (1 Gallon):
I have a 2004 Volvo S80 2.9, which has a GM 4T65E transmission that originally took Dexron III. I performed a complete drain and fill of the system with this Valvoline Dexron VI fluid, along with a new transmission filter from Advance. I have 107k miles on the vehicle/transmission and this fluid has made it shift very smooth again. I was not having any major trouble with the transmission before but, shifting was rougher than I would have liked from a luxury car. I will use this fluid again next time I change the ATF, since I have no complaints.

Comments about Valvoline MaxLife MaxLife DEX/MERC ATF (1 Gallon):
I recently have replaced the fluid and fliter , done a complete clean out(removed the pan inspected)in my 2010 F350 DRW. Run this JUNK for a couple of weeks and now I have a transmission that is shifting all out of whack, hesitation between shifts but the next same gear tries to break your neck it shifts so hard. Leaking at every seal, line, and gasket after the fluid get warm, And yes it all started after I changed to this fluid.. JUNK!!

Comments about Valvoline MaxLife MaxLife DEX/MERC ATF (1 Gallon):
This ATF has additives that help fight wear in older transmissions that are still shifting correctly. I use it in all my GM's and they all have over 100,000 miles on stock trans. My Trailblazer has 186,000 miles and thanks to this product still shifts like a 50k trans.

Comments about Valvoline MaxLife MaxLife DEX/MERC ATF (1 Gallon):
Flushed 3 quarts out of my Santa Fe transmission through the dipstick hole using one of those cheap orange siphon pump dealies. So a partial ATF change (it takes 8.98 quarts). Took me 20 minutes. After putting the Max Life in, my shifting improved IMMENSELY.
I used to have rough shifts between each gear. They were not horrible but you could definitely feel them, and sometimes the vehicle would really shift down when slowing to a stop. Now the transmission is effortless and smooth, you don't feel it shift hardly at all.
Even at a 40% replacement, the vehicle feels much better to drive both at highway speeds and in town. I recommend this 100% for Hyundai Santa Fe.

replaced 2 gallons in a Chevy lumina and went on a 1100 mile trip. Transmissison shifts well and possibly added 1-3 mpg. Looks like it is a better fluid than the cheapest petroleum.
