I use form-a-gasket for all kinds of stuff - one tube lasts for years without drying out. I use it on air compressor hose fittings instead of telfon tape. The tape can tear and get caught in small orifices like those in my paint sprayer. Using form-a-gasket I dont have to worry about this.
I use it when I rebuild an engine. Great to hold new gaskets in place on transmission and oil pans, water pumps, and thermostat housings. And I sometimes use it as the name suggests - to form a gasket. I've been using it for 35 years and I would recommend it to anyone.
