When I first read the reviews of the other customers I almost didn't buy this set. But I decided to anyway and I'm glad I did. I was able to get both sides installed in a hour without ANY problems whatsoever. I have a 1998 Civic EX and have had problems with other mfg's brake pads being too thick and not fitting properly but these when on very well! So far no fires or smoke either!

Purchased these pads for my sons 07 civic ex had an extremely hard time fitting the new shoes into the caliper, I had to remove the shims on three of the four pads ( the pads are not of the same thickness.)this exposed the adhesive on the pads which smoked like heck for the first couple of uses. The pads are quiet as advertised if they last I would say they are a good buy for the low price...

Although I read the other reviews that stated they were sometimes too thick, I ordered the Silver and sure enough the caliper would not fit over the new pads. I exchanged them for the Gold series and the Gold fit perfectly on my 2001 Honda Civic LX sedan.

Don't quite know why people are degrading these pads. I installed them in under fifteen minutes per wheel. I have used the Silver pads in the past and have had nothing except great results. Highly recommended for 2008 Honda Civic EX...

First set had too thick of brake pads, making it impossible to put the calipers back on. The replacement set was OK, so I am assuming I just had a once in a lifetime defect.

Product spec'd for a 2001 Honda but doesn't fit. Pad are too thick. Will not allow proper install.

The shims may not be necessary, but if the fit is so tight that you can't install the shims then it's probably too tight. I'm not sure if I got a bad set, but I ended up returning these for Wagner Ceramics.Q:
