Installed and used for first time hauling heavy tandem axle cargo trailer cross country. Set for more sensative and heavier braking while trailer was loaded and quickly adjusted to less sensative, lighter braking after unloaded.( Adjusted within seconds, while on the move, no screws, easy to adjust from the driving position)

Worked extremely well! Get rid of your old time delay controllers.

Ordered on line and picked up in store. Took the store 2 days to find the item. Maybe it was misplaced because it did not work. Had it checked out at the RV dealership to make sure it was connected correctly, which it was. The controller would send a signal to the trailer brakes for a few seconds then stopped sending signal and no trailer brakes. Not good!

            Comments about Hopkins Brake Control:

This product does what it's supposed to. I like how when the brakes are applied that it increases power to the trailer brakes incrementally instead of all at once. This helps to keep any jerking from happening and you can still use the extreme braking capabilities.

I was slightly dissapointed for some reason when I got the product, opened the box and it looked different? I'm not much on looks, but I had previously purchased one of these and really liked the ergonomics of the old unit. This one isn't quite as nice in my opinion, but hey it still does the job.

Never heard of Hopkins products before but this brake controller is much better than the last one I had before it quit working after four years (Different manufacturer and more expensive).Recommend buying the additional wiring harness. Makes installation super easy. Recommend ordering online and picking up in the store. Cheaper and you get the product right away.

Unfortunately we do not have a compatible adapter for this Hopkins Brake Control - Part No. 110-47294 to fit on your 2013 Ford E250 Van available online. I would recommend that you check with the nearest Advance Auto store or call us at: 1-877-238-2623 and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

Just bought a 2007 Ford F 150. Looks like it had a brake controller installed before. The only plug under the dash looks like the access point to the computer. If I get the adapter cable for this unit, should I assume there is a place to plug it in? Also, does this unit come with the 7-pin plug I need to have at the hitch and will the whole assembly take care of my brake, signal and backup lights?

                          A:

The Hopkins Brake Control - Part No. 110-47294 comes with a 4-Pin plug only. If your 2007 Ford F-150 came equipped with a factory tow package, brake control function wires may exist under the vehicle dash and you would need a Hopkins Plug in simple 47715 connector. If there is no brake control function wires in your vehicle, then you would need the Brake control splice optioned 47705 connector. Unfortunately we do not have both these wiring connectors available with us online. I would recommend that you check with the nearest Advance Auto store or call us toll free at : 1-877-238-2623 and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
