Comments about Turtlewax Black Tire Shine:
I have always used the Turtle Wax Wet 'n Black Ultra Wet Tire Shine with fantastic results. It was clear, went on clear and came in a clear bottle. I have not been able to find this type of bottle, but noticed there is now a green bottle with identical wording; it comes out a tan creamy color vs the clear bottle/clear contents. It does not look as good on the tire initially nor does it even begin to last as long as the other. What changes have been made and is the clear version still available? I would definitely recommend the clear, but not the creamy.

Comments about Turtlewax Black Tire Shine:
Product worked great. It produces a very shiny black finish that does indeed last for several months as long as you wash the car regularly. Aerosol was easy to use, although it can be difficult to aim and overspray on wheels is a problem if left on. I wiped the nozzle off after spraying upside down and have not had any issue with clogging after the initial use, and I store it upside down as well just for added peace of mind.

Comments about Turtlewax Black Tire Shine:
Very good stuff, however, the sprayer nozzle clogs causing me to only be able to use this stuff one time. It says on the directions to turn can upside down and spray to clear nozzle after use and before storage, which i did, but when i tried to use it on another vehicle it barely came out. Now I cant find a nozzle to fit it and am unable to use it anymore. The only thing i can think of is to buy another can, use the nozzle from the new one until i run out and then switch it. I just hate to spend [$] and only be able to use it one time. Turtlewax should include replacement nozzles or at least allow customers to get a new one without being charged. Its a shame for the chemical to be so good, yet not be able to use it. I would absolutely recommend this product to a friend IF the nozzle problem is fixed.

I have been using products to make my tires look good and have used various things. This seems to be the best so far, it is suppose to last months instead of days. So far good

A:
The coating is not as resistant to scuffing as the tire rubber. Tire sidewalls can withstand the abrasiveness of concrete curbs, stiff brushes and many other driving hazards. Turtle Wax Tire Coat is easily damaged by curbing the tire or by scrubbing with stiff bristle brushes. We have found that utility wire brushes used for cleaning BBQ grills is sufficient to “score” and remove the Turtle Wax Tire Coat without damaging the tire rubber. We recommend brass or steel grill brushes for removing the coating. Local hardware stores are a great place to find a variety of these utility brushes that will fit your needs. Always test a brush first on a small section to make sure it is properly removing the coating. Remove the coating by rubbing the wire brush back and forth over the sidewall while the tire is dry. The coating will crumble under the rubbing action. When most of the sidewall has been dry rubbed to remove the coating, wipe the tire with a cotton cloth to remove the residue. Clean the sidewall with a suitable automotive tire cleaner to remove remaining residue.
