Q:
do you puncture the top with something, like a nail, or does the hose puncture the top when screwed on? because my hose does not pop the top when I put it on.1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Turn the valve handle of the charging kit (Interdynamics Arctic Freeze Ultra Synthetic R-134a Refrigerant (12 oz.) (Part No. AF-3) counterclockwise until the piercing stem is in the up position. This will prevent accidentally piercing the can. You will just have to press down on the trigger and it punctures the can and controls how much refrigerant comes out. For any further assistance please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto store and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.Q:
I think I have r12 in my system now. I need to add refrigerant. Can I add this to the r12 or do I need to flush the system and replace with 134 a?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
No, if you have R12 system you would need to retrofit the system to R134a system before adding R134a refrigerant. For any further assistance, please call us at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) and we would be more than happy to assist you.Q:
I have a set of A/C manifold pressure gauges but have never used them. When load the refrigerant, what is the pressure range for the low and high pressure gauges I am trying to reach, and how does temperature affect those low and high pressure ranges?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Turn on the vehicle and put the air conditioning on its maximum setting. Open the release valve from the recharge kit. Monitor the gauges to make sure that you do not overfill your vehicle's air conditioning system. For an R-134 system, the high side pressure should show 2.2 to 2.5 times the ambient temperature, according to the Aircondition website. At 70 degrees, the high side should read 154 to 175 pounds per square inch (PSI). The acceptable pressure can vary with humidity and heat load. A reading of 30 PSI is considered a good pressure for the low side. Pressure and temperature are related, and 30 PSI means the evaporator is about at the freezing point of water. It is important to watch the gauges because you will not be recharging a completely refrigerant-free air conditioning system, there will still be some left from the previous recharge. For any further assistance please feel free to call 1-877-238-2623 and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.Q:
do i need to add a lubricant or oil with this product?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
No, there is no need to add any oil or lubricant with this Interdynamics Arctic Freeze Ultra Synthetic R-134a Refrigerant (12 oz.) with Part No. AF-3. This Arctic Freeze product also contain Acid Neutralizers, Leak Sealers and O-Ring Conditioners and so there is no need to add any other lubricant. The active chemistry in Arctic Freeze® Ultra allows R-134a refrigerant to carry more heat. When it reaches the evaporator in a vehicle’s A/C system, the active chemistry causes the R-134a to come out of the solution and increases the system’s cooling capacity, which means your car cools faster rate. Arctic Freeze® contains R-134a refrigerant and is compatible in all R-134a systems.Q:
