      • Upgrade from basic stereo

Comments about Dual Electronics 50 x 4 Channel 200W Receiver with USB iPod Control and AUX Input:

      - USB port will read a USB drive, but not an ipod loaded with thousands of songs in 50 folders. To charge using that port you have to put the stereo in USB mode and you wont hear music meanwhile. Otherwise, recommend you just get a 2-sided 3.5mm audio cord and a separate 12V USB charger to plug an ipod cord through a cigarette lighter port.
      - Unit has a port in the back for a steering wheel controller if you want to upgrade later. The unit doesn't already come with it.
      - For a stock sound system, I have the dash tweeters spliced in parallel with the front door speakers. Works without a hiccup and built-in amp puts out more than enough volume through all 6 outputs with 4 channels.
      - Has RCA connections in back for subwoofer hookup
      - Detachable control face with case
      - CD Player has a nifty anti-skipping feature that seems so good so far
      - Controls not entirely self explanatory. Reading the short manual would be a good idea.

Comments about Dual Electronics 50 x 4 Channel 200W Receiver with USB iPod Control and AUX Input:

3 main sources I use work fine (USB, Aux, Radio). Direct replacement for a crummy Kenwood I paid 6 times more for, which does far less and breaks down all the time. I don't notice much, if any, difference in performance, except of course that this one works, even in sub-zero after sitting outside all night. This might not deserve the full 5 stars on quality alone, but definitely for value (sale price less online coupon).
