excellent tool worked like a champ especially on those hard to reach rear plugs and since its one piece with the extension attached it makes it extra easy to remove the socket from the deep wells in the head, these plugs are already hard to remove and this tool saved me allot of tears.

This or similar product is necessary to make removal of the plugs for Ford 5.4L easier. Ford made the process very complex and this tool helps.
Following Ford's guidelines I backed the plug out 1/8th turn and added a small amount of penetrating fluid to loosen carbon and other buildup before removing the plug. Ford calls for Motorcraft carb cleaner, I used Sea Foam Creep. I waited two hours instead of Ford's lesser amount of time for the cleaner to do it's job. I then backed the plug out another 1/4 turn, and then re-tightened, backed out 1/4 turn and waited another 15 mins. Then removed the plug with none of the horror stories you will find about this process.
You will need multiple extensions and swivel to get to a convenient place to turn a ratchet.

The Ford Triton V8 is a beast, and it has a tendency to break spark plugs. This tool is your best chance to avoid breaking them on the way out. The integrated swivel and magnetic plug holder make it easier and safer to use than a traditional rubber boot spark plug socket. Now on to the not so good: it's old KD and has been replaced in kits and on the shelf by a Gearwrench 9/16 magnetic spark plug socket, standard length without swivel. So get it while you can. 5/8 and 13/16 sizes are still available from Gearwrench to round out your kit.
