This jumpstarter saved me multiple times...

My alternator is going or already is bad and my battery is not getting enough amps to effectively keep a solid charge. I just bought a new Interstate battery and have had it load tested without issue.

Although this unit is relatively low in amps, it has always worked for me (2005 Ford Five Hundred), even when my battery is dead.

It sure beats jumper cables and I was able to not only jump my car, but also another recently while at a gas station...neither of our cars would start after filling up with gas.

I don't leave home with out it. Thanks Advanced Auto

I did charge this unit for 12 hours for a full charge and it did not have enough power to turn over the motor of a Nissan Maxima more than 2 or 3 times. The temperature was around 30F. This charger might work for a small motor such as a motorcycle, but I cannot see this working for a car

Everyone should have one of these for emergencies.
I have been stranded several times in my life with a dead battery and it ain't fun. No one seems
to have jumper cables. And don't rely on those
road side assistance plans as it will take forever
for them to get there and jump you off. Get one of these and don't leave home without it. P.S. I also use mine to charge my cell phone and laptop as it has the cigarette lighter type plug and it and it works fine. Seems to charge quicker than plugging it into the wall. Great gadget!

Charged the pack for the recommended 12 hours before use. When I went to use it, the unit was dead. Charged the pack again, tried it again and still no charge on the pack. I will be returning it.

I purchased this to use as a portable power source. The instructions said to charge for 24 hours before use, which I did. The unit was sitting on a table for about two hours when the low power alarm started beeping. With absolutely no load, its dropped it's entire charge. They recommended recharging every month. Hah!!
I should have read the other reviews before purchasing but at least Advance Auto didn't give me a problem with the refund.

Comments about 600 Peak Amp Jumpstarter:

The product works as advertised, however, if you have a really dead battery, you will need more amps. Specifically, I was attempting to jump start a 2006 CLK Mercedes (720 amp factory battery), that hadn't been started or driven in a year, and this booster pack simply was not strong enough. I ended up using the booster pack and jumper cables to boost from my 900 amp BMW battery. So, if you're just buying this booster pack for a weak or low amp battery, it may work. Otherwise, buy a pack with more amps. Also note that the battery I was boosting was only 2 years old, and once it recharged, it's as good as new.

Very handy and compact, easy to store in the trunk or fits into a small compartment. when I got the jump starter home and opened the box to take inventory of all the components, the wall charger was missing from the box. I went online to the peak web site and easily found the customer service e-mail. I sent a message to the Peak Representative and got a response within minutes. He was very helpful and courteous, he just needed the model number. literally minutes after sending the information he requested I received an e-mail saying he had already sent a new one out.

Battery was fully charged and green lights are on. Using it to power some 12v accessories indoors. Few days later I check battery level its still FULLY CHARGED. Amazed, I kept using it. 20mins later it suddenly goes dead. Check battery level its ALL GONE. 20 mins ago it shows FULLY CHARGED. Therefore, the battery indicator is NOT correct. Also, there's barely enough juice to start my beater Nissan Maxima v6. I'd recommend a more expensive jumper if you're going to use for jumping cars. I use it for 12v accessories for fun only so it didn't matter much for me.
