Comments about Champion Power Equipment 4500 lbs Winch Kit:

installed 4500 lb winch on Yamaha Rhino utv 1038 lbs had catastrophic failure in back yard upon 1st use. was respooling wire under tension on a slight incline 3/4 of wire evenly spooled on drum when I heard a crack and winch let go internally Rhino freespooled in reverse, broke loose and slammed into homes rear deck demolished portion of deck and bent wheel/flattened tire on utv called company and got attitude right from start--didn't follow directions, couldn't happen that way,etc etc. Refused to send rep to inspect, refused to mail return authorization to ship to Cal from WV. will have to ship on my dime. Rep would not give full name, and refused to allow me to talk to anyone else up the chain of command. war is ongoing. BEWARE Champion Power Equipment If there is a problem, they want to blame it all on you

I use the winch to pull my mini excavator up onto my trailer. Seems to tork when under stress. The screw holding the cable to the spindle broke after the second use.

Comments about Champion Power Equipment 4500 lbs Winch Kit:

This is used as a back up winch on the rear of my Willys Jeep. It does work fine. It was leaking some oil when I recieved it. For the money it is fine. Did buy a bigger one for the front. If you buy it from a real Champion dealer you get a 2 year warranty. Have not used it past seeing if it works so time will tell.

I am wanting a winch to mount on a flatbed farm truck that will work to pull a hay bale spike that pivits and is mounted on the back of the flatbed to lift the bales. Bales usually weigh 1200 to 1500 lbs. Need to have power in and power out with remote and work on 12volt. Will this winch work and if not what do you recommend. Thaks
