I used this inverter to keep my laptop, 2 cellphones and a 18v battery pack charged during an 8 day hunting trip. It performed flawlessly.
I wish it had come with a carry case to store it in when not in use but it did have a case for the battery connectors and the accessory plug. The cooling fan came on constantly but that is a small price to pay for the convenience of keeping
three thing s charged at a time! I won't leave home without!!!

I've read reviews about the fan being very loud. I've read reviews about operating multiple devices with no problems. Mine must be defective,I have experienced the exact opposite. The fan is barely audible when held to my ear. My hair clipper runs at greatly reduced speed, laptop not at all, and my small drill runs slowly for a short time then the red light comes on & the inverter shuts down. I don't know if I should get a refund & try a different brand, or (because of all the positive reviews) exchange it & try again

Comments about Peak 400 Watt Tailgate Inverter Max:
Returning my second one today. Thought I would give them a chance. The first developed the Fuse popping issue after about two months of use. The second developed the loud fan issue on a trip which is an unacceptable annoyance. Switching to Shumacher brand.

Kids using it to power XBOX 360 for those really long weekend drives. Works well through the 12V accessory outlet. One thing it does do...if you leave it plugged in and shut off the car, the radio stays on for about 5 seconds. Took a while to figure that one out. Now it is unplugged every time.

Comments about Peak 400 Watt Tailgate Inverter Max:
I used this to power an Xbox 360 on our trip. Sometimes, the overload alarm would sound and output would be turned off and then back on. Based on this, don't count on the stated 800W peak output. I'm not even convinced it'll do 400W continuous. But it's still a nice converter for light loads.

Nice product! Powers my daughters laptop, my sons portable DVD player, and charged my wife's iPhone on a cross country journey. It did overheat with all that but I left it under the seat with the AC on low on the floor and that cured the issue. Made a long journey dead silent for
me!

Comments about Peak 400 Watt Tailgate Inverter Max:
I used this invertor after a power outage in Northern Michigan. It was connected to a 12v deep cycle marine battery and worked great for about 4 hours. When I unplugged a small radio it blew the 40amp bayonet fuse. As soon as I would try to plug in another fuse(with nothing plugged in) it would blow the fuse again. So I disconnected it from the battery changed the fuse, re-connected to the battery and it blew it again. Unfortunately my first use was after the 90 day warranty and now I have land fill material.
Comments about Peak 400 Watt Tailgate Inverter Max:
Peak doesn't honor rebates. I bought two inverters and sent the rebates in. Two months later and they have no evidence on their web site. Sent an inquiry. No response. Peak rebates are a SCAM. Don't sucker for it.

I got this on sale for under $20. It didn't have all the features i wanted, but for the price i paid, this is an awesome product. So far no problems.
Comments about Peak 400 Watt Tailgate Inverter Max:
The product works great. However, I cannot check my rebate status. Be careful when you buy a rebate product from Advance Auto parts. It is a trap. I went to the website [@] many times to check my rebate and never get it.
