Bought the jack to replace a cheaper "home" floor jack (2Ton) where the hydraulic piston had shattered while lifting about 1 Ton, dropping the car. (ALWAYS USE JACK STANDS!!!)
This new jack is HEAVY, and sturdy. The lifting plate is very wide, meaning it's important to center the load on the jack top.
Operation wise, it has a foot pedal which is very useful for quickly bringing the lifting plate into contact with the load. With other jacks you need to pump it about a dozen times before making contact. After initial contact, the jack works very smoothly.
The pump handle is very solid and long. It's easily removeable for storage, but requires mating up with a nut to operate the hydraulic release when reinstalling.
This floor jack will likely be the last jack you'll ever need to buy.

Works like a charm. Remember to follow the directions and bleed out the air. Other than that, seems heavy duty for DIY uses, not sure how it would stand up for everyday use as I only use it 10-20 times per year, oil changes, brakes, shocks, exhaust etc. I raised it up and put about 40lbs on it, it didn't drop at all when I checked it 24 and 48hrs later. Also purchased jack stands.

Comments about Torin 3.5-Ton Garage Jack:
yes it is Heavy, but it is Heavy Duty. Makes short work of putting vehicle up on blocks. My 2 ton is light, but can not pick up the side of an S-15 - this can.
I have to work on a gravel surface, that makes it less fun.. but the Heavy is worth it, in time saved.
Lifts quite high, again saving me time.
I have left it up, under a vehicle over night, still there the next day.
the release is very Very touchy, but with finesse it will ease down slowly.
If you get a faulty one, take it back! dont wine about it, get another one. when they work they work very well.

This jack is a fine addition to my garage, it is quite handy, rolls easily, jacks quickly and stores without taking up to much space.
I plan to use it for brake work, tire changing and possibly other fun garage activities.
Nice jack.

Comments about Torin 3.5-Ton Garage Jack:
I think that for simple home use this jack is over what the standard person may need unless you have a passenger van or a Hummer. Its about 80 pounds which makes it difficult to lug around. Big Red is beautiful though and I think the Jack works very well.

Comments about Torin 3.5-Ton Garage Jack:
Assembly is a sinch and the instructions are extremely clear. It's a refreshing change from a lot of things these days. I use the jack for DIY repairs on my vehicle (oil changes, tire rotations, brakes, you get the picture) and this thing works *almost* like a charm. This jack raises the car very smoothly, is sturdy, and doesn't take up a ton of space in storage.
In regards to the foot pedal, I haven't had a chance to use it yet. My vehicle doesn't have a lot of ground clearance, and I need to get the jack pretty well underneath it to get at the closest lift points. If your car is low to the ground too, you may need to removie the pedal to properly position the jack. This is just my experience. Always research the lift points on your own vehicle.
Now, a couple flaws to look out for; First, you need to bleed this thing out very carefully when it has a load on it. The release valve seems to be fussy, and if you're not paying attention your vehicle will come down pretty quickly. Also, I hope you're pretty strong. You'll need to be to lug this thing around. It's heavy.
Lastly, but not necessarily the least important, if you order this jack you'll not be getting a Torin jack. Instead, it will be an AutoCraft jack. I only realized this upon getting home, figured I'd give the thing a whirl anyways since I got it at a good value, and it just so happens that I like the way it works. Beware though, you will not get a Torin jack.
Comments about Torin 3.5-Ton Garage Jack:
I purchased and returned after two uses. First use on dodge 1500 and jack stands. Second use was to level out deck. I left my deck supported by this jack on one half and old craftsman on other, overnight big red bled down to the saddle, other jack saved deck, but after the weight was off big red, it still bled all the way down to the saddle! Did it two nights in a row, I always use jack stands, but come on a new jack cant stay overnight for 300 pounds! Advance returned but couldnt order replacement. I'm still going buy another torin, looks like a new beafer version called the T83014 took the place of this model. [@] has them ten bucks cheaper and an extra yr warrenty for 15 buck.

Comments about Torin 3.5-Ton Garage Jack:
I purchased online and picked up in store for discount purposes. My old jack is a craftsman run of the mill, don't remember what I paid like $130 came with 3 ton jack stands and creeper. The Torin 3.5 ton jack looks the same as C. Big red is a little longer and has the quick lift pedal. Longer base is where the extra half ton comes I guess. But I replaced my old jack of easily ten yrs. old before it malfunctioned I abused this jack left it out in rain, snow for months at a time. Threw it in back of truck and drugged it out to land hard on ground every time. Lifted sheds, tires, equipment maintence, and out in field repairs on not hard rolling surfaces and it never bent or broke, I just figure better to have two heavy jacks around, few times could used em together. So when I seen that Big red is Identical pretty much, except for the nice added food pedal, longer base, I expect my Torin jack to hold up the same as my old spare jack did. I will post in yr or so after warranty up let everyone know. The reason I just didnt go back with what I had is bad reveiws and the [@] brand isnt what it used to be. And what seened like deal was not cause I would never trust them stands for full three tons and creeper just ok. The welds were little better on old jack, but who cares just shows extra penetration on welds to see they where too hot. ooooo yeah and to hell with H.F.

Where on the jack do you put the jack oil? Do you have a picture where you are to put this oil?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Turn the jack handle counter-clockwise to open the valve and lower the saddle. Lay the handle horizontally so you can access the top of the jack. Locate the reservoir fill plug. This is a rubber plug located on top of the ram, toward the rear of the jack. With a rag, clean the area around the fill plug of any dirt, oil and grit. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry the rubber fill plug off of the fill hole. Do this gently so you don't tear the rubber. Pour the hydraulic fluid through the fill hole until the level is just below the bottom of the hole. Do not overfill. Replace the fill plug.Q:
