I agree w/ previous reviews in feeling disappointed by the cheep plastic construction, especially the dash mount and the transmitter case. I'd have gladly paid a bit more for a higher quality construction. It took me about an hour to wire the power, but I'm not mechanically inclided. The camera and monitor have a clear shape image and I feel a lot safer backing up a big truck particularly if there are kids around.

I installed this on a 2005 Dodge Ram Quad Cab, 1500, short bed. The cable from the camera to the transmitter was, in my opinion, a little short for a p/u truck. I was barely able to get it in the cab. (Had to drill a whole under the back seat in order to get the transmitter inside). Overall this camera functions fine. It seems to work fine at night too, at least the one time I have used it so far.
One thing I don't like is that the monitor, when in standby mode, will flash on and off sometimes. I called tech support, and they stated it is due to it receiving frequencies from other sources around. That's the only downfall of the wireless transmitter.
The suction cup that is included to mount to the windshield is not of very good quality, and is hard to get it to stick (not a tight fit on moving parts). I was able to manage to get it to stick after some time though.
For the day that I have had this installed, it works as described so far.
The installation is pretty straight forward; took time to route wire to cab. The splicer supplied is not of good quality. I would recommend soldering the power supply to ensure a good connection.
I too had to put a black piece of tape over the blue LED, as it is annoying.

like all suction cup devices, does not stay stuck to dash very well, otherwise with a Tahoe it does great to see low and behind the vehicle. Very clear image

Comments about Peak 3.5-Inch Wireless Backup Camera System:
I am one of those guys that tows everyday. I either tow a 28' pontoon boat or our pile driver for work. I have been looking for something to make my day just a little easier in the mornings. This looked like a great piece of gear but once its on and you move backwards the scene is distorted then clear then back distorted over again. Not the best but useable.

Comments about Peak 3.5-Inch Wireless Backup Camera System:
Installed on large van. Easy to install. Looked ok at first glance.
First time used at night could not identify anything on screen. Mulitple colors jumbeld together to make indecipherable view. When backing up, SLOWLY, to the front of a lighted trailer I bumped the tounge before I could see it. Other time could not determine the difference between a box and a dog on screen because of poor picture. Unable to return as told I had it too long (3 weeks).

I use the camera when backing up to my boat trailer. It is also helpful when backing boat trailer into the water to load the boat.

Comments about Peak 3.5-Inch Wireless Backup Camera System:
Install is straight forward. On my car (Toyota Highlander) the backup lights are not connected by individual wires, and I did not want to drill holes through my hatchback to run them from my licence plate holder so I got a little creative. I mounted it to my tow hitch bar and ran the wires through the spare tire grommet and powered it by wiring it to the auxiliary power plug in my hatch. It seems to work well, no surprises, it just was not as simple as plug and play as I hoped for but that could just be my situation. I placed the transmitter parallel with the receiver about 5 feet apart (right behind the rear seat) and I have not had any transmission issues. When all the way in the back of the hatch and hidden in the spare tire hole, I would get lines across the scree.
To nit-pick, I would have preferred a wider field of view and a better way to mount the monitor. It also feels cheaply made.

Comments about Peak 3.5-Inch Wireless Backup Camera System:
The quality of this product is very poor. I bought my kit in August and by December the camera was too blurry to see anything. The company realizes this product is junk too which is why they only offer a 90 day warranty.
It is a very nice concept and the monitor seems decent but the camera and plastic transmitter box will not hold up.
