I use this 15W-50 Mobil 1 in my Twin Turbo Viper GTS. I put down 1298 REAR wheel horsepower, this is the ONLY oil I will use. I change it EVERY 2500 miles due more to age than miles, every time it is still great even after extreme heat of the 1/4 mile and extended Texas heat on the highway. My engine runs at 230degrees normally, the oil has never broken down on me. Great product and just as good or better as RP or RL synthetic oils, and cheaper.

Mobil dropped the CE/CF designations from M1 15W-50. It used to be the best oil for Diesels. Now it is not fit for use in older Diesels.
Mobil keeps changing the characteristics of M1, apparently to make it cheaper and less effective, and to make formulations for newer (post 07) engines. Finding a good synthetic for older Diesel engines is getting very difficult. Mobil would be better served to leave the formulation of established products alone, and use a new product name for new products.

Comments about Mobil1 15W-50 Synthetic Motor Oil (1 qt.):
I run this oil in a Mercruiser 5.7 that pushes a 6500 pound boat. It is a great oil that takes the punishment of a loaded marine engine. I run my boat year round and the multi-viscosity is great for this purpose. This oil stays much cleaner than the conventional oil I used to run. I would highly recommend it for performance based engines.

Comments about Mobil1 15W-50 Synthetic Motor Oil (1 qt.):
I currently use this in a modded v8 (dodge magnum) and had used this in a modded inline 4 (bmw m10). I had rebuilt the engine in the 4 and after two years from coninuous use, there was no evidence of wear, and with the valve cover off, the head looked as if it just came from the machine shop (shiny and no sludge). The car had a large cam (shcrick 292) and the lobes still looked new as well as no abnormal wear on the rocker arms. The zinc content (1200ppm) allows it to be ok for older flat tappet engines.
Since the oil is full synthetic, you could use it in cold temp environments. I live where it can get to -20F and still start and drive fine. (I wouldnt redline until engine is warm...should be common sense with any oil) Some may say its too thick, well synthetic composition is NOT the same as conventional oil. The flow characteristics are better COLD/HOT in synthetic oils...PERIOD.
I came from using Castrol in everything but oil consumption and overall quality is what made me change. I'll continue to use this brand and type of oil in anything I own.

Keeps engine running smoothly for years. Change every 5K miles but could go longer. Cheaper than a rebuild.

Q:
I'M told that my '89 Por. Carrera should have 12 to 14% zddp.2 answers

A:
No worries, it is well protected, If you have any problem with the valve just replace the part for the better performance.A:
the issue is your lifters and cam needs this if you have flat top lifters. Mobil 1 15W-50 has 1200 PPM of Phosphorus and 1300 PPM of Zinc per Mobil's specs which is sufficient ZDDP for an older car. Shouldn't use it however if you have a catalytic converter. Lower viscosity oil even with Mobil 1 may not have enough ZDDP in it to protect your lifters and cams from rapid wear.Q:
Can I use this in my 2007 Triumph Speedmaster?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Mobile1 10W-40 motorcycle oil is the oil you need.
