When I first purchased this item I loved it. I was able to remove my oil drain bolt and my oil filter at the same time and allow both to drip out as opposed to doing it one at a time with my older drain pan. The second time I went to use it oil stated coming out the spout. I thought I left it lose and tried to tighten it, that is when I realized the cap was cracked and would no longer seal. I found that the caps from a 20oz power-aid and the one from my 1 gal VW coolant container fits just fine. The coolant container cap fits the best so now I'm back in business. If you plan to purchase this or currently have one ditch the cap and dig through your recycle bin and find one that fits.

Leaks!!
Overall it's a good design but the drain cap leaks! If you try to tighten it the cap just pops off and won't provide a strong seal.

I took it back to the store and looked at the other ones on the shelf and they do the same thing.
I was disappointed because it has larger oil capacity than other containers.

Comments about Rhino Gear 15 qt. Oil Drain Pan:
This came with a hole in the bottom and I ended up with transmission fluid all over my driveway

Comments about Rhino Gear 15 qt. Oil Drain Pan:
Makes it easy to pull out from under vehicle without spilling oil. Can leave it in the pan until you have time to discard it. Can us with other fluids.

Comments about Rhino Gear 15 qt. Oil Drain Pan:
THE MANUFACTURER NEEDS TO WORK ON THE DRAIN HOLE IN THE TOP OF THE PAN. ITS AGGRAVATING TO USE. OTHERWISE ITS JUST A PLAIN CATCH PAN.

Comments about Rhino Gear 15 qt. Oil Drain Pan:
I've owned a few different manufacturer of these and the center plug of this one simple unscrews and lifts up without coming unattached, which is nice for not loosing it under the car. But for sime reason every one i've owned leaks at the drain spout, doesn't matter if its brand new or a year old, they leak when you store them flat in your garage. So if you buy this product, buy a little catch pan for the drippins.

Comments about Rhino Gear 15 qt. Oil Drain Pan:
Same luck as the others. Learned the hard way about broken cap. I had 12 quarts sloshing around inside on my way to recycle and when I got to the garage I found the pan half empty and the back of my Jeep pretty well flooded with oil. Soaked into and through the carpet on the back deck and into the storage area underneath. I was very angry and threw it away. After reading the first review, looks like I should have kept it and found a better cap. Capacity is great, concept is great, cap is garbage. Dissappointed with quality, it would not have taken much to make this a 5 star product on the part of the manufacturer- looks like the price of a powerade bottle cap would have done it.

Comments about Rhino Gear 15 qt. Oil Drain Pan:
I bought this so I can do my own oil changes. I jacked my car up with the factory jack, placed some jack stands, and was able to slide the drain pan underneath my car and still have room to get to the oil drain plug and filter. The pan was even large enough to catch the drips from both the drain plug and the removed filter.
It is true that the cap sucks. Luckily this has such a large capacity that the oil shouldn't get to the top in just one change, so you can set it in your trunk to take the old oil to be disposed of without worrying about it leaking all over the place.

If fluid hits center plug it causes splashing and spout cap threads strip easily.

I've owned a couple of these and always have to use a paper towel on the cap or it just drips oil everywhere. Why in the world they can't just put a washer on the cap is beyond me. I can't find one that fits properly.

Q:
The plug in the center of the draining area stripped & got lost. The Drain pan is fine but can't find where to obtain a replacement plug (checked Blitz web site). The plug was pretty flimsy but a replacementwould probably would keep oil from leaking during transport or storage.1 answer

Sorry, we do not have the drain pan plugs available with us at the moment. However I would recommend that you check with the nearest Advance Auto store and our representative would be glad to assist you with drain pan accessories.
