Comments about Optronics 12VDC 40A Relay:

I needed a center tap for normally closed like often used in keyless entry/horn/light installation, I guess if you only need a simple relay it would be ok.

This could possibly be the problem. However, without the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it nor provide you with a 100% answer. We would suggest that you take your vehicle to a certified mechanic for further diagnosis.

Is there a matching socket for this relay?
Asked on 12/22/2009 by advanced amateur from Vestal, NY

          • A:

Yes, it is a standard 12v automotive relay socket(Bosh type). You can use either the 4 pin (SPST) or 5 pin(more common SPDT) socket as this would fit in both. If you look on amazon you can find one sold by "parts express" for 3.49 plus shipping. You can also find them with the relay and socket for about $6+S&H.
