I installed this battery in a Actioncraft/Coastal Bay sportfishing boat with a 175 hp Evinrude
O/B motor. In addition, I need 12 volt battery power for a VHF radio, Lowrance GPS/fishfinder,
Power Pole, livewell pumps, etc....and then to have power to start the O/B several time during the day to move to another fishing spot.
With a 1000 marine cranking amps and 800 cold cranking amps this battery has the power I need.

Alternative vehicle build - electric prototype. Weight to volt*amp=watts capacity for the $ of the 24 series deep cycle for off the shelf and replacement was purchased.
Picked up and installed in battery bank with other Deep cycle 24 series batteries. After 10 days of use I have discovered they are not marked as deep cycle. Do to the nature of electric deep cycle use, are these as they were listed as deep cycle, and will hold up to that duty cycle? To be found out in time.
The other 24 series are a year old and are doing the job.
Weight @ KW's capacity of the NiCad vs lead acid is equal. To build a lead acid bank with 4 times the KW storage capacity (1 mile vs 4 miles)
Trade off is the weight you carry around cost you ENERGY and SPACE but the distance you gain is what I am after.
NiCad last twice as long cycle wise.
NiCad 3 yeas service vs 6 months for lead acid.
NiCad 95% draw down vs 50% lead acid.
1 mile vs 4 miles and 50% more emergency reserve in larger battery bank.

Replaces the standard size power with a longer lasting power battery of its's type. Took old battery to Advanced and was checked to be bad. Great service at the counter but bought online and saved more dollars. Ordered online in the morning and was ready and waiting when I got to the store one hour later. Great Service from the employee at the store. Friendly and always ready to help find or suggest products that work. I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years and will continue to purchase my cars and camper parts at Advanced!

BCI group size 27 would be the minimum requirement for this purpose, 30 or 31 would be better. I would recommend the AutoCraft Gold Battery, Group Size 27, 750 CCA - Part No. 27-2 or the Autocraft Marine / RV 12-Volt Deep Cycle Service Battery, 675 CCA - Part No. 31DP-6 instead.
