Comments about Wearever Unloaded Vacuum Power Brake Booster - Domestic:

This was much easier to replace than I had thought it would be. Two nuts hold the master cylinder to the brake booster and 4 nuts under the dash hold the booster to the firewall. Removed and replaced in less than 2 hours having never done one before.

I'm happy to help, David! No need to bleed brakes as long as the system was not opened.

    • Q:

My brakes grab in cold or wet weather after my truck has been setting a while, also the engine runs as though it has a vacuum leak (rough idle/performance, poor power, poorer gas milage, hard starting when cold). Also brakes don't work as well as they used to (spongy at times). Could this be malfuctioning and leaking vacuum from somewhere???? Vehicle is a 1997 Ford F-150 5.4L V-8 4X4...

Hi WJD, Unfortunately, without the presence of your vehicle we are unable to diagnosis the exact problem. We would suggest you to check your vehicle with a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying the parts that may/may not solve the problem.

    • Q:

after replacing the master cyclinder and new front calipers and i have bled all 4 brakes still can't get any resistance in the brake pedal - goes to floor but after pumping 3 or 4 times i do have a little resistance but if i let off the brake and push again goes to floor - could this be the booster?

        A:

Yes, this could possibly be the brake booster. However, with out the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it nor provide you with a 100% answer. We would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not solve or be the problem.
