I've gone through a lot of pads over the last couple of years. First time, I did pads and rotors. Second time, I swapped out both calipers, along with new pads and rotors, about a year ago. The right rear (passenger) caliper just bound up again and had to replace. Someone suggested it might be the brake hose as the culprit. I was going to replace it, but I could not separate the hose from the line without breaking the line. I need to be on the road tomorrow, so I'm going to risk it. I know these are the "cheaper" pads, but, until I am sure of the cause of the problem, I'm going to continue with them. The pads on the drivers side looked fine. This was on a 2003 Chevy Silverado Ext cab, VIN "T", 5.3L

I read a few reviews where people mentioned the pads did not fit well. I also read several that said they worked fine. I took a chance and got burned. They did not install into my caliper bracket. I needed to get brakes on my truck so I had to modify the metal on the pad to fit. I later replaced with the gold series. Spend the money for he next step up.

      • Q:

I purchased wearever rear brakes-(Silver) part # MKD 785. The site states this is the part for a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 2WD. The shop stated they are too large. However, I noticed that the site also has part # MKD 792 for wearever silver. Would this part work since the shop states MKD 785 is too large? (maybe 785 is actually for a 4WD.

These pads fit very tight when installed. To move the pads you have to TAP them with a small hammer. Is this how they fit.

        • A:

if you are talking about they are snug when sliding the pads onto the caliper then this is normal. if you are having to tap the whole assembly(pad & caliper onto the rotor then you have not depressed the piston/s far enough.. use the old shoe and a "c" clamp to depress further.
