The metal stamping process to manufacture the pad backing plate leaves burrs on the edge of the tabs that need to be filed down until the pads slip easily into the stainless steel retainers or the pads may drag and squeal. The pads are great for everyday driving and wear well. My '95 Buick Riviera requires the metal stud on the backing pad to align with the "V" notch in the caliper piston, but the piston had moved and the inner pad sat on the piston uneven and wore uneven on the set I removed. I filed off the metal stud on the rear of the backing plate. The stud may need to stick out farther from the flat of the backing plate which would keep it in the piston's "V" notch. You may want to verify the stud height against the Manufacturers version. Both the Gold and the Silver brake shoes had the same stud height.

Replaced the rear pads on my 97 eldorado. Easy installation. Remove the bottom caliper bolt, remove the bolt that holds the caliper to the parking brake bracket and swivel the caliper upwards.

works great once you can get them to fit the caliper, some burs on the metal make fitting them into place alittle hade but not impossiple, just use a file to remove the excess and you are good to go.

4-per box, never change only one side, always change both to avoid one wearing out quicker, and its also a safety issue.
