Too much dust, ruining my rims.

Comments about Wearever Silver Semi-Metallic Brake Pads - Front (4-Pad Set):

I feel that these pads are perfectly safe, functional, and economical. However, they're just making a mess of my wheels. I have wearever silvers on the front and golds on the rear of my Jeep Wrangler. The silver's cake the wheels in brown dust in about a week. The golds, hardly a spec. If I was driving a work-truck I wouldn't care, but I keep my personal cars clean. --so, off they come and in the trash.

Comments about Wearever Silver Semi-Metallic Brake Pads - Front (4-Pad Set):

I haven't installed the new front pads yet but they look like the right ones. I have bought them from you in my last installation and they were great. And they are at a good price w/ more expenses these days. I have already put my new similar pads on the back of my Stealth and am happy.

I was surprised that the brake pads came with the shims already installed. In the past, I had to remove the old shims and reuse.

Comments about Wearever Silver Semi-Metallic Brake Pads - Front (4-Pad Set):

The Silver series brake pads are a very good and a cheap replacement alternative for worn out oem's with just as much life and quality as the originals. I have used them in my Dodge Stealth for over 7 years with very little wear. These recent ones were a replacement on a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero Sport with dual piston calipers and you really couldn't ask for an easier brake job on a vehicle. (Mostly because of the Mitsubishi design.) Suprisingly, they seated fast and didn't make any new pad noises. The only drawback is that they don't come with the original equipment style backing "padding" on the outside brake pads but there are no clunks or creaks because of this. Perfect pads for a daily driver!

which provide better performance and life expectancy.... Ceramic or Metallic pads?
            Asked on 3/29/2012 by Anonymous

              A:

Below are the advantags and disadvantages of metallic and ceramic bads

Metallic Pros: The best thing about metallic or semi-metallic brake pads is that they are cheap and durable. Because they are composed mainly of metal combinations, they will not wear down quickly, and are slow to become too hot from friction. Metallic Cons: Downsides to metallic brake pads include the loud squealing sound that drivers frequently complain about as brakes are applied. This results from brake pad vibrations as the metal of the pad grates against the metal of the brake rotor. The result of this violent meeting between equal materials is that the rotor can become grooved or worn over time, and will eventually need to be replaced when there isn't enough material left for repairs.

Ceramic Pros: Ceramic brake pads offer a much quieter and more reliable braking solution to drivers. This is because the materials in the ceramic mixture vibrate in a range outside that of normal human hearing, which gives the impression of a very quiet stop every time. In addition, ceramic brake pads do not become heated as quickly, and become cooler faster, which helps to eliminate brake fade over long downhill courses. Ceramic Cons: The downside to ceramic pads is that they are much more expensive than their metallic counterparts. Some auto enthusiasts claim that this expense is offset by the lack of rotor damage caused by the pads, plus the time and hassle that is saved from having to occasionally replace rotors.
