Purchased these pads for my sons 07 civic ex had an extremely hard time fitting the new shoes into the caliper, I had to remove the shims on three of the four pads ( the pads are not of the same thickness.)this exposed the adhesive on the pads which smoked like heck for the first couple of uses. The pads are quiet as advertised if they last I would say they are a good buy for the low price...

These brakes fit on my 99 Accord and my 98 CRV. They work very well on both vehicles. I have no complaints, they do what they're supposed to and that's what you need out of a part like this.

Comments about Wearever Silver Semi-Metallic Brake Pads - Front (4-Pad Set):

I've installed the Wearever Silver pads in a lot of my cars. They're easy to install, quiet, good braking, last a long time and AdvanceAutoParts always seems to have the ones I need in stock. So, I tried to install them in the front brakes on my '04 Honda Civic LX. For some reason these pads are too thick to close the caliper housing over them. AdvanceAutoParts happily exchanged them for the Wearever Gold ($2 more), and the Gold pads fit easily. So, buy the Gold pads if you have a Civic!

Comments about Wearever Silver Semi-Metallic Brake Pads - Front (4-Pad Set):

These brakes do not fit my vehicle 2001 Honda Civic. The pads are thicker than the other pads that are available for this car. The Gold and Platinum ones are not as thick. I wasted my time picking these up as when I went to put them on the caliper bracket wouldn't even clear them. The piston was not a factor as it was pushed in, and I couldn't even get the brakes to the point that they would be near the piston.
I'd not recommend these for anyone to purchase. Look elsewhere and get brakes that actually fit, or get the next step up.

Pads were too thick even after compressing the piston in the caliper. I ended up buying the werever gold and they were thinner pads and were able to then install the caliper.

I changed pads & rotors on my 2000 Civic. When I was putting the new pads on it was very obvious that the pad/rotor combination was much too thick for the calibers.

I finally took the pads to a local Advance Auto Parts store to see if they had a thinner option. The clerk pulled an identical part off the store shelves and they were much thinning than the orginal set I bought. Another cleck mentioned that this happened to him before and that the ones I had should have been marked as defective. They exchanged them even-up for the correct, thinner pads and I was able to finally complete my brake job.

Before I made my original purchase, I read a review from someone that stated they had to "sand" them down on the sidewalk before they would fit. I figured he/she must have done something wrong.

If I had to do it again, I would pay a few more dollars for a different kind of pads.

No not if you buy the pads from the Advance Auto Parts in Sanford NC. I would like to know what a Lifetime Warranty is then. If the pads fall apart they need replace them free. You shouldn't have to buy pads with a Lifetime Warranty just in case the MFG made some bad pads.

For step by step instructions i recommend that you go to your nearest Advance Auto Parts store and purchase a repair manual.

The shims may not be necessary, but if the fit is so tight that you can't install the shims then it's probably too tight. I'm not sure if I got a bad set, but I ended up returning these for Wagner Ceramics.

The brand of calipers should not matter. As long as they are the right ones for your vehicle, you should be fine ordering the parts you need, as long as they are made for your vehicle.
