I saw mostly bad reviews on this but purchased anyway since dealer wants $27/shoe! Installed on 2002 AWD Highlander. With the hub in place it is difficult to install the spring caps but managed with patience and persistence. I installed with new rotor. You need to use the adjusting screw to set the proper clearance but the drum does fit over the shoes nicely.

I read the other reviews that said these don't fit and did not believe them so I purchased them. Upon installing they simply are the wrong part and will not allow the brake rotor to go on. They appear to be the correct diameter but the metal contact and pivot points are the wrong shape. I beat one set up pretty good trying to make them work. Upon returning them to a local store the kid at the counter took them back and did not care that they were beat up and used. He probably put them back in stock.

Rotor won't come on after installation, but it's due to stuck brake cable. So, everything else needs to be perfect for this part to work.

They fit but the rotor will not

These are not designed properly. I bought another pair from a different auto parts store and everything goes together as it should. These should not be sold.

          Will not fit 2002 Highlander

          By

Comments about Wearever Parking Brake Shoes:

I read the reviews as I was going to order online. Decided best to order in store after reading reviews. I carried my old shoes in for comparison even and warned about bad reviews. 4 hours later, I'm headed back to the store to return them after checking the reviews to see if these were what I was sold... Very frustrating to say the least. Still like Advance best, but someone needs to pay attention and get these off the list of exact fit for Toyota...

Comments about Wearever Parking Brake Shoes:

I bought these for my 95 ES300... It was only after they did not fit that I checked these reviews... they are too large. The space for the adjusting mechanism is too small to hold it in the fully retracted position, thus the rotor will not go back on.... Returning as soon as possible.

The other review is correct, these brakes are the wrong size for a 2004 Solara. I went to a competetor and was able to get their brand, they fit. They did not have as much pad, but when you cant get the drum back over them, the point is mute.
