Comments about Wearever Master Cylinder Master Cylinder - Remanufactured:

I installed this on a 1997 RAV4. The master cylinder appears to be nearly identical to the OEM unit, and installation was pretty easy. Brake feel is just as it should be. This unit does not come with a reservoir, but it is super easy to re-use your old unit. It's held on by just 1 small phillips machine screw, which I highly recommend that you use a small vice-grips on the edges first to break it loose, then use the screwdriver to turn it all the way out. Installation on the RAV4 is easier if you remove the air filter cover and box, plus remove the 2 bolts for the fuse box and gently pull it out of the way. I used a long wobble-end extension to get at the fender side nut holding the master cylinder to the booster. My biggest complaint about this unit was that there were no plastic plugs in the top holes where the reservoir goes - there should be plugs to keep foreign material out, although the unit was wrapped in a plastic bag. Mine was made in China, and I'm hoping the seals will be durable like the OEM unit.
