Comments about Wearever Caliper Guide Pin-Bolt Kit:

I had problems with brake fade and grinding after installing new pads and rotors. I remembered during the instalation that the bolts didn't seem up to par. I went back nto the store and got new bolts Installed them in 30 min. and was back on the road. I only wish I would have included them in my brake job to begin with.

Comments about Wearever Caliper Guide Pin-Bolt Kit:

Do not use air tools on these. a shop installed pads on a Jetta and then said the calipers were bad due to the brake pedal fad. I received a call and told them I would look at it. It was due to the brake line so close to the bolt and someone using an air tool that they are not skilled enough for. this action stripped the pin and that caused the brake fad. Installed a helicoil and these pins fixed the issue and they did not need calipers.

Suitable for replacement, but NOT stainless steel as OEM were. I would recommend cleaning and re-using OEM if not groved.
Thread lock was only on 2 out of 8 new ones.

What is the thread size, I need to fix my vehicle that uses this, also do you sell a kit that will fix the threads where this attaches to vehicle? I know it is a 10mm but not sure if it is 10x1.25 or 10x1.5

I'm happy to help, John! I have found that this Wearever Caliper Guide Pin-Bolt Kit (Part No. H5025) is M9 x 1.25. Heli-Coil Thread Repair Kit M9 x 1.25 in (Part No. HEL5546-9) may allow you to repair the thread. You may also consider Dorman - Help Brake Caliper Bolts (Part No. 13894). It is an oversize bolt that is self-tapping and has a thread size of M10x 1.25.

        • Q:

2002 dodge dakota it gives me a caliper pin to buy but I can also buy an oversize bolt. There are no specs given at all. How about bit size or allen key size as mentioned before? The size is it 9 x 1.25. Nothing on your site at all? I need a Helicoil kit how can I buy one if you can't list basic info?

            A:

We apologize for any inconvenience caused. The Wearever Caliper Guide Pin-Bolt Kit - Part No. H5025 is not an oversized caliper bolt that fits your 2002 Dodge Dakota truck. Instead please check the Dorman - Help Brake Caliper Bolts - Oversized 2-3/16 Inch - Part No. 13894 which is the exact fit oversized caliber bolts with the size M9 x 1.25" and length 2.19".
