Put these shoes on with new rotors. My teen driver has to be safe and I feel good about these products. If I didn't trust Advance's Wearever products I would shop some other store. I ordered on-line and the fine people at the Tazewell store had everything waiting for me. Kathy even took time to double check that I had everything to do the job and helped me load my purchases. My hats off to Johnathan and the team.

I could not get these to work on my 97 F-150 4x2 2WD. When comparing to the OEM shoes, the shoes do not match up. If you buy these make sure you compare to your old shoes before putting them on. The drum would not fit over the linings once installed. Adjuster spring was all the way in and I even disconnected the parking brake cable to ensure it was moving freely.

Thankfully Advance took them back with no issues. The guys at the local store pulled another box and we couldn't find any that matched up to the OEM shoes.

Wound up going with Motorcraft shoes from another source since Advance couldn't source them.

    Not So Much!!

Comments about Wearever Brake Shoes - Rear:

Not sure where to even start! First off, as mentioned in other reviews the self adjuster anchor pins are shipped loose packed in a small zip lock bag. After attempting to lightly hammer them in place with no luck, I attempted to press them in via the only press type tool I have, a bench vise. Multiple attempts to get either pin in completely were fute. This was the first set of shoes I have ever encountered that the pins were not pre-installed from the manufacturer. Secondly, the pad material on one of the shoes was installed incorrectly pad material was protruding beyond where the backing plate surface would have ridden, had they been installed may have worn a spot on the backing plate. Had the pins been pre-installed, I would have installed a replacement set of identical except shoes and been GTG, however, if one of those pins comes loose, your self adjust cable and levers would certainly damage the drum and other issues components of the brake system and I therefore would not recommend these replacement shoes!!!

Comments about Wearever Brake Shoes - Rear:

The self aduster pins are not installed and require a press to install correctly,I had one set of shoes installed before I noticed this. Had to pull everything apart and used my large bench vise to press them in (mushroomed the head to the point that Im had to reshape the pin to make it work...not fun)
When I got past that and installed the left side of the vehicle I found that there wasn't a hole drilled in the primary shoe for the large lower spring that pulls the shoes together....had to pull everything off and drill it myself. I would NOT recommend these to anyone!

Comments about Wearever Brake Shoes - Rear:

The padding on the shoes started to fade and skid and i'm getting a lot of pulsation in my rear. I would not recommend these if you don't want to feel like your truck is gonna fall apart when you press down on your brake pedal all the time.
