When I opened the box, I thought this was a new caliper with its bracket already mounted, not a re-manufactured part! It was package like new and even included a new banjo nut. Attention was paid to the machining of the metal housing, with no sharp points or corners. And talk about easy to install...pop the pads in, connect the brake line with the new banjo nut, bolt on with the two bolts, bleed the brakes, and done! 30 minutes, tops!

Remanufactured beware!!!

Bought this product and had to return it immediately. After installation and pumping up the pedal and bleeding the piston became stuck and would not release causing the brakes to remain applied.

Comments about Wearever Brake Caliper Unloaded Caliper w/Bracket -Domestic:

Brake calipers on this model Blazer have a phenolic plastic piston which over time is prone to swell inside the bore. When this happens it won't allow the calipers to release the pads when take foot off the brake pedal thus causing the brake to stay engaged. The cheapest most efficient way to fix this is to replace the calipers.

Comments about Wearever Brake Caliper Unloaded Caliper w/Bracket -Domestic:

When the rear OEM calipers failed I replaced them with wearevers with lifetime warrenty. I got 5 years on them before having to replace the first one. Install was easy, but even with new copper seal washers had difficulty getting a leak free seal on the remanufactured casting face.
When the second one failed the stored again honored the lifetime warranty and replaced the caliper, re manufactured. This one was locked up as soon as I applied brake pressure. Had to return it to another store to get a replacement, since the first store only had the one. Received a new caliper the 2nd time which worked fine.

This product is well worth the additional cost because it comes with all the extra hardware to replace old brackets, often needed on older vehicles such as my 2000 Blazer. Installation was easy and everything performs as expected. I would recommend this product to others.

While replacing the brakes on my 1999 Chevy blazer I had troubles getting the old calipers back on. Bought new ones and it made the job much easier. Not sure why this one is like $2 more than the other side? But, still very pleased.

                      A:

There are a few things that could be causing this. One is that either the brake pads or brake rotors are the wrong part, or the caliper has locked up. Another cause for this is the incorrect installation of the items. I would give everything a second looking over to see if you notice anything, and if you can't, take your vehicle to a brake shop to have it looked over.
