I hesitated to purchase because I had never used Fenco parts. I was very pleasently surprised to open the box and find genuine FORD cores that were expertely rebuilt. I drive an F250 4x4 and tow a 5th wheel trailer, so the phenolic pistons were recommended by Ford. I would definately buy these again and have already recommended them to friends and family. A++

I needed to replace a brake caliper on my '03 F250 Super Duty, and the price on this one was right, so I took it home. The new caliper came with the entire bracket (which I didn't expect) and even the anti-squeal spacers, etc. that usually come with new brake pads. I was all set to replace the old one, so I lined up all of my tools, got rags, etc. ready so that I could quickly hook this one up as soon as I removed the brake line from the old caliper, and minimize the fluid loss while the line was disconnected (not to mention the hassle of having to bleed a ton of air out of the system). I disconnected the old caliper and lifted this big 20 pound beast up to the axle, only to discover that the good folks at the assembly/packaging plant thought it would be HILARIOUS to torque the bolts holding the bracket to the caliper to about 150 ft. lbs... So, while my brake lines are steadily running fluid out all over my garage floor, I am wrestling with a 20 lb. dead weight and a wrench trying to break loose these bolts. When I finally got them loosened so I could hang the caliper on the bracket and tighten the brake line, I had probably lost 20 ounces of fluid, causing me to have to spend an extra hour bleeding and re-bleeding the brakes (about 35 times total) to remove the air from the system. Oh, but they WERE kind enough to leave the bleeder screw finger-tight so if I hadn't noticed I'd be in the back of a semi the first time I drove it. THANKS!

Comments about Wearever Brake Caliper Unloaded Caliper w/Bracket -Domestic:

I purchased from AAP because I liked the idea that the caliper and brackets were sold as an assembly. Everybody else sells each part separately. However, for the rear caliper brackets, I had to disassemble and noticed the new pins (supplied in kit) had heavy corrosion on them and the pin bores were full of rust and debris. I spent a fair amount of time cleaning the bores and ended up using the original pins. When I returned my cores, I mentioned all of this, the kid said he didn't think he could do anything. Nice!

PS I checked the front pins/pin bores and those were clean.

New slide pins were frozen in old grease that was never cleaned from caliper holes. If not disassembled, cleaned and re-greased they wouldn't slide.
Rust preventative coating in a joke. Surface rusted in no time.
There's got to be a better option..
