Comments about Wearever Brake Caliper Unloaded Caliper w/Bracket -Domestic:

5 out of 6 Wearever parts I bought in Fall of 2015 have failed. Rotors were out of spec., pads worn prematurely, and calipers are just bad (pads do not retract timely and drag against the rotors for few seconds after brake pedal is released). All Wearever brake parts were installed new at the same time. I spent over $500 and months of frustration in trying to troubleshoot my brake issues. Finally I gave up and took my 2001 Ford Ranger truck to two auto repair shops and both concurred that the calipers mainly were the culprit for the wear, pads were of inferior quality producing lots of dust, and rotors have been known to be of low quality (most likely out of spec). Although all these parts are still at least within the 1-yr warranty, I decided to purchase new parts from a different manufacturer. Why replace trash with trash?
I recently read lots of reviews about Wearever brake parts and most complained about defects, low quality products, and at the best short part life. I will never, just never, buy a Wearever part again!

Comments about Wearever Brake Caliper Unloaded Caliper w/Bracket -Domestic:

The driver's side caliper set for a 99 2wd ranger was a good fit. I had to replace the caliper because the bleeder valve was rusted in the original caliper.

I ordered online and was able to pick up locally. Using the discount code was a bonus. Best price compared to other retailers.

The banjo bolt did not thread easily into the replacement caliper, it felt like I was stripping the bolt. I had some fluid leak from the banjo bolt connection but after torquing to 26 ft/lbs all was good. The caliper bracket replacement was easier to install.

            A:

Hi Dennis, great question! The loaded caliper includes the brake pads, clips/pins, and other necessary hardware whereas the unloaded caliper does not include pads or other hardware, it just the caliper and the piston.
