Comments about Wearever Brake Caliper Unloaded Caliper - Import:

Installed easy, had all hardware, but "exclusive rust proof coating" is a joke. I replaced this in fall, and it was rusty in early winter. I'll have to prep and paint it this spring. Other than that, no issues.

Comments about Wearever Brake Caliper Unloaded Caliper - Import:

Box marked for left side caliper had right side caliper in box. (I received 2 right calipers despite boxes being marked correctly on the outside.) Had to return to store and exchange for left side. Reps at store were great.

Using new rotor and old caliper until I get a chance to fix. Wasted 1 hour of time. Had to reinstall old caliper, and next week I will have to swap old and new, another hour. Also, additional trip to store as well. Lee

What size pads does this Caliper take? The short or the long pads

          A:

I'm happy to help, Ray! This Remanufactured Disc Brake Caliper, Front Left (Part No. SLC9951) is engineered to fit 2003-2005 Toyota 4Runner, 2001-2007 Toyota Sequoia. This is the only caliper for the front left of the Sequoia I looked up. Toyota upgraded the brakes for their later model trucks to use the 13WL casting from the S13WE casting. This would require the use of the longer 5.3" brake pads. In the aftermarket you will typically only find these larger calipers to replace calipers on all model years using this brake combination. No other changes are necessary to the vehicle to run these upgraded calipers, other than the larger brake pads if you do not already have them on your vehicle.

      • Q:

I am assuming that "front left" in the description refers to the driver's side and that this caliper works for disc brakes. Is this correct?

          A:

Yes, front left is the driver side and it will work with disc brakes.
