For my 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD Ext. Cab V-8, 6.0 Liter 4 X 4. I foound it easy to buy new pads to make it fully load. Used an air impact tool to remove caliper off Mounting Bracket to add the brake pads. Hard part was to remove the old one off truck. I rounded off Mounting Bracket I had to get Caliper Mounting Bracket Bolts from a hardware store. Due to Brake Caliper with Mounting Bracket did not come with new Caliper Mounting Bracket Bolts. That was an extra cost of 10 dollars and 60 cents each total of 21 dollars and 20 cents.

Couldn't get bracket bolts loose for pad replacement. Store rep also tried without any luck. Slid bracket off of pins and you could see that they were never removed, just shot blasted and coated while still on caliper. Caliper didn't even slide well on them. Advance ordered replacement. Also instructions stated to torque fasteners to factory specifications. Inlet hose bolt provided stretched and nearly broke well before reaching torque setting. Replaced with Dorman bolts without any issues.

Whoever decided to sell these calipers with the mounting bracket is Genius!! After breaking 2 torx bits and all my knuckles I finally removed the whole assembly and replaced. A bit of advice tho... Before you leave Advance Auto make sure you have/buy a good T55 torx bit and also 2 sets of H5078 Guide Pin Bolt Kits so when you finally do get the factory bolts out, you can throw them as far as you can!

I will never buy a lone naked caliper again. These assemblies come ready to toss in pads and install, no fuss no muss. Just a touch of lube and you're good to go. These include new pins and spacers already lubed and installed making the job easier than ever.

Comments about Remanufactured Brake Caliper with Mounting Bracket:

This caliper assembly was very easy to install. Thank goodness this came with the "hex head" caliper pins instead of the T-55 Torx pins. I twisted up 3 high quality Torx bits to complete the job on both the left and right sides. I was very happy to be able to loosen and remove the fourth and last one. Do yourself a favor: Buy the caliper with the bracket and pin assembly just like this one. New slide pin seals, new pins, new bleeder, and even a new banjo bolt w/copper crush washers. Bleed off a little bit of air and you are done!

The best thing about this caliper is it came with replacement bolts with a hex head instead of the original Torx head bolts, the torx bit always breaks off when trying to remove the bolt. The hex head saved me a lot of money because when I last changed the pads I broke 3 $12.00 torx bits before I got it off.

Comments about Remanufactured Brake Caliper with Mounting Bracket:

I was changing pads out on my 2003 Tahoe and found one of the old front calipers TORX bolts were stuck tight. I had to use a 6 foot breaker bar and a C-Clamp to keep socket on, and still no luck. Took off caliper and noted the pins and slides were worn and so I ordered a new pair of remanufactured units. So when I get them, I find one caliper with brand new slider pins with hex heads (Yeah!!!), and the other caliper has someone else's frozen TORX bolts. So I installed that caliper to try to remove them and found I could not, as those TORX bolt heads were wallered out!! What a disappointment...
